Democracy, Defend It! Don’t Lose It! Ugh, What is It?

As the midterm elections approached the American people were told over and over that America stands to lose its “democracy” if MAGA Republicans take over Congress. The terms MAGA Americans, and MAGA Conservatives, were terms coined by President Biden, most likely by White House staff and fed to the president, incredibly lumping together the 76 million Americans who voted for Trump in 2020 and insinuating that they were terrorists ready to steal our democracy. Biden used these terms, as did a cadre of Democrat candidates to scare others into thinking that a “red wave” or a great influx of Republicans winning U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate seats would in some way damage our democracy. The only damage to our Democratic Republic has occurred in the past two years under the current administration. Democracy is “rule by the people” and with the record amount of voter engagement, democracy is not threatened. 

Look back to 2020, just after the election but beyond the January 6, 2021, debacle. America was at the cusp of one of the most prosperous times in history. The United States had reached energy independence. Gasoline was about $2.39 per gallon. The COVID crisis was ending and our foreign policies seemed to be working. Whether Trump was liked or hated, he was at least feared.

Joseph Biden was elected President of the United States and we, the American people, immediately started to lose. Biden ran a campaign under the guise of a great compromiser, ready to sit down and bring all sides together, work out past differences and make America whole. Instead, in reality, he was already compromised by the far-left progressives who helped propel him to the presidency. Biden did not hear, speak or see anything that was beyond his immediate agenda of undoing everything that Trump had accomplished. He first closed the Keystone XL Pipeline, cutting thousands of American and Canadian jobs. Then, he stopped all new drilling on federal land and made preposterous proposals like being fossil fuel free by 2050 and having half of all vehicles on the road be electric by 2030.

Biden's view on illegal immigration is to look the other way, allowing record numbers of illegal immigrants to walk across the border. Vice President Kamala Harris is the border czar; however, she has never been to the U.S.-Mexico border and has not offered a single solution. Supply chain issues and inflation has made everything more expensive, which is particularly harmful to those on fixed incomes. In two years, the Biden administration has eroded our democracy away faster than any administration in history.

The erosion has spread from the halls of Congress and the corridors of the White House to the streets of every state, city and town in America. Soros-funded progressive prosecutors run wild with no bail laws and pander to criminals with multiple violent crimes on their records. The mayors of major cities ignore the rise of crime from murder to robbery, implying that it is insignificant. The large influx of unvetted illegal immigrants adds to the chaos bringing crime and drugs to America's cities.

There is no reprieve for law enforcement in this new woke environment, only disgust and fear. Police are no longer loved and respected by those that they protect and serve. No, they are expected to serve and only protect when it is convenient for a particular narrative. Other than that they are targets for the woke criminal justice system and if they do lift a hand to protect, they wind up being served up to the courts for any number of charges. The dangerous “Defund the Police” movement has caused large swaths of the country to believe that police are not necessary, and they simply do not care or want them. This guarantees worse outcomes for mostly low-income families in already unsafe neighborhoods.

The fight for law and order is currently a losing battle. Police officers cannot defend the good in society because the bad and the ignorant are running the show.

As woke DAs and AGs come up for election, we must fight to win back control or our society will never be redeemable as we head into the future. The current administration has militarized the FBI and the Justice Department. The Biden administration is hiring 87,000 armed, well-trained IRS agents with the power to arrest. These radical steps in governing show that our government is moving toward a change, a change that will make law-abiding citizens the lawless of our socialized democracy.

We are “losing” our democracy. We are losing because a small subsection of America wants control and wants a one-party system with a few at the helm as the guiding light. The far-left, which controls this administration is advocating for a mob rule where the loudest voices control the narrative, the government, the law enforcement and the people. This is not the democracy we want to live under or what our Founding Fathers created. The policies by this administration — not MAGA supporters — are the real danger to our Democratic Republic.

This path eventually leads to communism. That is not what America and Americans have fought and died for. That cannot be our legacy!
