North Carolina Law Enforcement Group Abandons Democrat Senate Nominee

-

A North Carolina Democrat candidate is learning firsthand that her liberal push to “defund the ” comes with real consequences.

Democrat received an endorsement from the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association in 20082014 and 2020, but this year the organization broke its ties with the over her outspoken support for “” efforts. Instead, the group chose to throw its support behind Republican Senate nominee .

The association's president, David Rose cited Beasley's decision to associate with “defund the police activists” last year as part of the decision to support Budd. (RELATED: Violent Crime Spike Linked to Defund Police Movement)

Beasley authorized a joint fundraising committee with Missouri Democrat “Squad” member Cori Bush.

“With violent on the rise in North Carolina, more than ever before, we need a senator who has our backs and not someone who is supported by Defund the Police activists,” Rose said in a Wednesday statement. “We endorse Ted Budd for U.S. Senate because he's the best choice for NC.”

Beasly has faced intense criticism for her public safety record during her tenure as a state Supreme Court justice. According to The Washington Free Beacon, the Democrat voted to vacate a career criminal's habitual felon status after the man was caught with a “weapon of mass death,” a decision that would have given the felon a lighter sentence. 1. WTH is wrong with this group NC Police Benevolent Assoc. endorsing this democrat slug in the past? What took them so long to realize that the Dems hate law enforcement? Wake up law enforcement agencies.

  2. Good on ’em. What is curious is that the Police Benevolent Association backed Beasley in 2008, 2014, and 2020. Her position couldn’t have been brand new beginning in 2022. It tells me, first, that David Rose and the PBA were not paying attention previously and were just lock-step union Democrat supporters. That said, good on them for finally waking up to what has been going on for the past couple of decades.
