SALT LAKE CITY — Two men have been arrested after a live but failed incendiary device was discovered under a Fox 13 News vehicle on Friday.
Police identified the suspects as Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31. The station is a local Fox News affiliate that covers Utah Valley University — where Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated last Wednesday.
The device had been ignited but failed to explode, according to law enforcement. It was located near an occupied building while news crews were on-site reporting on the aftermath of Kirk’s killing.
Officials warned the bomb’s placement risked “mass casualties.”
The FBI, local police, and the county bomb squad launched a joint investigation. That effort included executing a search warrant at a home in the Magna area, west of downtown Salt Lake City.
Inside the residence, investigators found additional explosives, firearms, illegal drugs, hoax weapons of mass destruction, and bomb-making components.
CBS News continues:
It’s unclear if the two suspects have obtained legal representation.
A Unified Fire Authority official told CBS News that no further information will be shared at this time, citing the ongoing investigation.
The death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot last week at an event at Utah Valley University, about 40 miles from Salt Lake City, has drawn a higher media presence than usual to the area. Investigators are still determining a motive for the attack and charges are expected to be filed this week against the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, according to the Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray.
Both suspects were booked into Salt Lake County Jail. Charges may include weapons violations, threats of terrorism, and other state or federal crimes.
Fox 13 said in a statement it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and that employee safety remains a top priority.

Are father and son US citizens? Are they here illegally? If so, SEND THEM BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM! We should not have to spend time, money and energy prosecuting them. They are criminals!
So how was it detected and by whom?
Gee, do you think these two weren’t from around there originally?
This is NOT Fox News, Fox News, but our local Fox 13 station in SLC. They actually tend to report on the left side of the aisle — unfortunately.
