-

Journalist Yashar Ali obtained a three-minute video on Thursday of from 2021, showing him emotionally abusing his heavily pregnant wife.

Ali received the video and a statement from the family of Crowder's soon-to-be ex-wife, Hilary, after Steven spoke about his “increasingly horrendous” divorce on his podcast against her wishes.

The footage shows Steven demanding Hilary administer medicine to his that she was concerned could harm unborn children. Captured on a Ring Camera, he snaps at his distressed spouse, telling her to “perform wifely duties.”

Crowder announced his wife was divorcing him, implying Candace Owens crossed the line by supposedly hinting at his marriage troubles.

Hilary's family said that she hid the emotional abuse for years.

Several conservative commentators took to social media to condemn Crowder, as Mediaite reports:

“I've known Crowder for a long time and I've always respected him, but I can't defend what I saw in that video about him,” tweeted Red State senior editor Brandon Morse after the video went viral on social media. “My wife and I have had some spats where we've said things we regret, but that was more than just an angry back and forth.”

Chronicles political editor Pedro Gonzalez called the video “insane” and wrote that the Daily Wire had dodged “a bullet” when Crowder rejected the company's $50 million contract offer.

“It's worth highlighting as a reminder that personality cults, which is what Crowder has built, mask this kind of thing,” Gonzalez concluded.

Republican commentator Ashley St. Clair condemned “Crowder simps” and suggested that “anybody who continues to watch or pay this guy is enabling an abusive, ego-centric maniac.”

  1. Wow. What happened to husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church? The order by Christ is two-fold. Each partner is to contribute. Obviously he’s never read or understood his side. You treat your wife right she’ll gladly give you the respect you’ve earned

  2. There are always two sides to the story and you have only given one of them, it’s hard to judge by that.

  3. My ex husband was loved by his friends. The class clown. When he got home after a night of drinking he would destroy the house. He really didn’t want a family he just wanted to say I have a family. He tried to abuse his children but I stopped that with a gun. When he wakes up after his drunken night its I’m so sorry. His mother hated me and her grandchildren. He was never nice to us. He screwed around through the whole marriage. So yes this man has a big ego. Now after 20 years of being divorced his girlfriends wouldn’t take care of him. He has alot of medical diseases. He used women and they were too stupid to see his lies. Some of these women would suppose to me my friend. Lied right to my face. He told these women I did nothing for him or the family. Every job I got he would show up and make sure I was fired because of he would leave the business. But these women believe his lies. Then you find out your own sister was screwing him. So I don’t believe Steve Chower. The nastiness and name calling has hurt my children. They really dont care what happens to him. He is still nasty to alot people.

  4. Narcissistic self-absorption is loathsome in all its forms. But grandstanding before an audience of millions is extremely poor taste.

  5. I’m not sure who Crowder is, and I’m not defending what he allegedly said to his wife. But I do know that when a couple is in the middle of a divorce, they say and do things they shouldn’t, including trying to get friends and strangers to believe that they were in the right, and the ex was in the wrong, no matter what the facts actually are. And if one or both is in the public eye, it also includes telling stories – whether truth or lies – to the press when they can. It is the press’ responsibility to get the other side of the story. That wasn’t done in this case, so I take this story with a grain of salt. Did you really expect the family of a woman in the middle of a divorce to be objective?
