The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) confirmed Monday that two of its workers were arrested for allegedly making an unauthorized copy of the crash footage.
The footage—first aired by CNN last week—captured the moment an Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet collided over the Potomac River, killing all 67 people on board.
Mohamed Lamine Mbengue was taken into custody Friday and later released before his colleague Jonathan Savoy was charged Sunday, according to the MWAA. Savoy was issued a summons and released.
Both men are facing charges of computer trespass in connection with the leak, though the agency did not reveal how they allegedly accessed the footage.
The video, obtained and shown on-air by CNN, provided a look at the moment of impact. The network reported that both clips were filmed on cell phones.

Why? I disagree with leaking but the sewer of DC leaks everything. Ask Adam Schiff. Why are they so concerned with this leak??? Was this an intentional action by a gender confused chopper pilot?? Looking at this video it doesn’t seem possible the chopper pilots couldn’t see the jet. The video is what it is but the wild reaction to it’s leaking and hiding her name for several days until all her social media could be removed certainly makes you wonder what are they covering up.
Same old crap. Arrest the whistleblowers not the criminals they are exposing.
So they recorded the crash with their cell phones instead of doing something to prevent it? What?
I applaud the initiative of these guys. I oppose control of information at any level.
