Fox News Reporter Peter Doocy Returns To Air, Explains Absence

Doocy, 36, announced the arrival of a baby girl, Bridget, with his wife and Fox Business reporter on Feb. 9. The couple welcomed their daughter into the world eight days before.

After describing the joys and stressors of postnatal life, familiar to every parent, Doocy shared candid photos of baby Bridget enjoying pool time with daddy in objectively adorable summery outfits.

One co-worker gave Doocy and Vaughn a onesie emblazoned with the words “Future President.”

“Keep an eye out for the Fox News Democracy 2060 coverage,” the beaming father joked.

His routine included waking up at 7 a.m., giving her a bottle, and going for a walk. The baby is now eating solid food, including sweet potatoes.

Doocy announced the birth of Bridget Blake Doocy in a Feb. 9 social post. He and his wife announced they were expecting a baby girl during a “Fox & Friends” segment in September as his father, Steve Doocy, shared recipes from his cookbook.

At a White House press briefing held Jan. 3, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre joked that Doocy should name his daughter after her. Doocy replied the couple would take Jean-Pierre's suggestion “under advisement.”

He also posted a photograph in a Jan. 6 Instagram post of him shouting a question to President . He captioned the post reading, “MISTER PRESIDENT, WHAT SHOULD WE NAME OUR DAUGHTER?”
