Jay Leno said goodbye to the staff at the Grossman Burn Center today, following a 10-day stay after receiving third-degree burns on his face, hands and chest.
The former “Tonight Show” host endured multiple surgeries during that time. His doctor, Peter Grossman told Fox News that he is optimistic that Leno “will make a full recovery.”
Fox News adds:
The former late night talk show host suffered “significant burns to his face and hands” in addition to scarring on his chest when flames erupted while he was working underneath one of his vehicles on Saturday, Nov. 12.
“Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes,” the Grossman Burn Center released in a statement.
“He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”
Burbank Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Burke released an incident report to Fox News Digital which revealed officials responded to the “emergency medical call” on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12:28 p.m.

God is good,but having money gives you access to the best plastic surgeons,I can tell you I was accidentally set on fire by my older brother who was playing with the pilot on the stove,he must have burned his finger(s)enough to feel the fire&flung it out of fear onto me who was just shy of 2yrs old(he was 4 yrs old) I had second&third degree burns right down to the muscles&bones,I sure don’t look as good as he does 58 yrs later. I’m just saying that money goes further bc I would’ve looked like him,hardly noticeable.
