Kayleigh McEnany: They’re Cheering At Mar-a-Lago

Democrats are cheering on Kamala Harris’s newly announced running mate – and former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany believes President Trump’s team is cheering alongside them, but for different reasons.

Harris announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential pick for the 2024 election against Donald Trump and JD Vance.

The Daily Caller reports:

“This is a stunning choice. I imagine there’s a lot of cheering at Mar-a-Lago at the moment. Look, Tim Walz, he’s no one to scoff out. He unseated a six-term Republican in Congress … He began as a moderate. And then he had a radical transformation as soon as he got a trifecta in Minnesota,” McEnany said. “I think it is fair to call him a progressive in sheep’s clothing. When you look at his record over the last few years, what you see are transgender surgeries for minors, carbon electrical grid by 2040, driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants. In function, his abortion policy allows abortion until birth.”

“These are policies that are far to the left of America … Kamala Harris has to do the exact opposite of what Tim Walz did,” she continued. “Tim Walz became more progressive. Kamala Harris is trying to become more moderate. But Republicans are going to say, ‘you’ve shed all your progressive policies, but yet you chose a progressive.’”

In other words, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are one and the same. They have both been able to pose as moderates and distance themselves from the most extreme wing of their party when it’s politically convenient, despite proven track records of supporting and even championing the far left’s policies.

Both Harris and Walz made headlines for their involvement in the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 following George Floyd’s death, with Harris directing her supporters to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, freeing arrested protesters and Walz cowering in the face of the riots, allowing his state to be ravaged and businesses already struggling from COVID closures to be looted, set on fire and destroyed for three full days before calling in the National Guard. This was happening as he enforced strict COVID mandates, and had even set up hotlines, encouraging neighbors to report others for violating his masking or social distancing rules. Predictably, no rioters or “protesters” faced consequences for any such violation.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was rumored to be the other top contender for Harris’ vice presidential pick. Shapiro is Jewish and many Democratic strategists and political observers theorized the Harris campaign would not want two minority candidates on the ticket.

Walz was a preferred pick for the progressive left, who advocated for him when the choice was reportedly narrowed down to him and Shapiro. Democratic anti-Israel activists criticized the Pennsylvania governor for his pro-Israel views.
