On Tuesday, Kamala Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) will be her running mate.
The 60-year-old Walz, a former congressman, is in his second term as governor of Minnesota, a state that Democrats have reliably won in presidential elections for decades but that the Trump campaign has aimed at flipping this cycle.
Interestingly, video leaked on Friday by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker appeared to confirm Harris had selected Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as her running mate. (RELATED: Kamala’s VP Choice Accidentally Revealed In Leaked Video: Report)
The DNC announced on Friday that Harris had officially clinched the 2024 presidential nomination, after winning the votes of a majority of pledged delegates to the Democrats’ upcoming national convention.
CNN also reported that the official call from Harris to Walz has not yet been made at the time of this reporting, the Minnesota Governor has been made aware of the decision.
In a message to her supporters, Harris stated that Walz would bring “principled leadership” to the campaign.
“Tim is a battle-tested leader who has an incredible track record of getting things done for Minnesota families. I know that he will bring that same principled leadership to our campaign, and to the office of the vice president,” Harris stated.
Harris also used the message to ask supporters to support the campaign.
“Now, would you pitch in $20 to welcome Tim to our ticket? We are relying on your immediate support to defeat Donald Trump and JD Vance,” she said.
“It means the world to me, to Tim, and to our families to have you in our corner,” the Democratic presidential candidate added.
The official announcement and subsequent rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday are expected to set the tone for the remainder of the campaign as the Democratic ticket gears up to challenge the Republican Party in what promises to be a fierce electoral battle.
Among the leading contenders for Harris’ running mate were several prominent figures, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly.

Harris has not answered any questions or had any interviews. If she thinks she can continue this, she is not dealing with reality. WHen they debate, Trump will force her to answer questions that the ameican people have every right to know, if Harris shows up. She is the worse VP in our history & as is Biden for his socallled failed presidency.

So Walz has openly stated that he will be worse for our country than Harris, and people are jumping out of their shoes to express their joyous support for him.
