Trump Blames Chris Christie For His Decision To Nominate FBI Director Christopher Wray

-

Former President is going after his onetime friend again.

Unlike his GOP competitors, who've struggled to differentiate themselves from Trump and been loathed to criticize him directly, Christie has demonstrated a willingness to pointedly attack Trump – at a time when Trump's standing with the GOP base is arguably as high as ever.

Unfortunately, for the former governor, polling data from RealClearPolitics shows him at 2.6% nationally in the 2024 Republican presidential nominating contest.

Of course, Trump is no stranger to lobbing ad hominem attacks at Christie. However, this time, the 45th president blames Christie for his decision to appoint to lead the .

As Mediaite reports:

Former President Donald Trump spoke to Fox's  for an interview airing Sunday. Bartiromo showed a preview of the interview on her show Friday, in which she asked the 2024 GOP frontrunner to react to FBI Director Christopher Wray's recent testimony before the House.

“President Trump reacting to this week's Judiciary Committee hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray. I spoke with the 45th president in an exclusive interview for Sunday Morning Futures. We started our conversation with a look at the upcoming debate and whether he will participate. And I got his reaction to the FBI director defending the charges of weaponization and politicization at the FBI,” Bartiromo began introducing the interview and setting the tone.

“Was it a mistake to put Christopher Wray there? I mean, obviously, the FBI is not following any of the things that you're talking about,” she asked Trump.

“Yeah, sadly. It probably was. It was recommended very strongly by Chris Christie, who was, you know, a sad case. I mean, I watch him. He's a sad case,” Trump said of his former longtime friend and ally turned 2024 primary opponent.

Trump has a history of making high-profile hires and nominations that he later criticized as incompetent – and worse.

That list includes former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly; John Bolton, his third national security adviser; Michael Cohen, his longtime fixer; onetime White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon; White House public liaison officer and “Apprentice” alum Omarosa Manigault Newman; former Chair Jerome Powell; White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, who held that title for 11 days; former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

While Trump has a commanding lead, Jeb Bush led the GOP field at this point in the 2016 primary process. Going back to mid-July 2007, Rudy Giuliani was the front-runner.

  1. Trump is blaming himself out of the race! He should stick to the narrow road and let us voters get him back in office. He has too big a mouth! If he relied on Christie to tell him who to appoint it is his own fault!

    • He DID rely on Christie, and a whole host of RINOS and Swampies, to select his Cabinet and fill many other positions. It’s why so much of his first few years were so unproductive and frustrating. That will not be the case if he can get himself re-elected, since he has a large cadre of faithful already in place, and he has a plan to dismantle much of the dysfunctional bureaucracy and fire tens of thousands of Swamp creatures. He and Kash Patel have compiled a list of names. Over 50,000 to start with on January 20th, 2025. The plan is called Schedule F (Google it, Axios did a big story on it), and it would have been implemented in November 2020 if Trump had not lost to ballot harvesters.

  2. American Liberty appears to be Never Trumpers from all the negative article recently. Time to unsubscribe from this RINO propaganda network.

  3. god worshiping globalists order their god worshiping globalist puppet, rino christie to appoint their god worshiping, globalist puppet wray to preach their globalist agendas .

  4. Sometimes I wish The Eternal Teenager would think before he speaks; on the other hand, Christie is a bad joke.

  5. Trump was not part of the Washington establishment and had to hire hundreds of people. It stands to reason that some would be losers because they all lie during interviews and how many were plants trying to get him for something? This is another B.S. article.
