The White House on Friday unveiled a new website dedicated to highlighting what it describes as left-wing media bias, featuring a rotating “Media Offender of the Week” and a permanent “Offender Hall of Shame.”
The inaugural “Offender of the Week” list includes CBS News, the Boston Globe, and the Independent, all flagged for their coverage of President Donald Trump’s response to a recent video by Democratic lawmakers. According to the White House, the outlets mischaracterized Trump’s remarks about holding the lawmakers accountable as calls for their execution.
Democrats’ Video Prompting the Clash
The dispute revolves around a November 18 video released by several Democrats — Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), along with Reps. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Jason Crow (D-CO), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Chris Deluzio (D-PA). In the video, they tell military and intelligence personnel that they “can refuse illegal orders,” implicitly suggesting Trump had issued or could issue such orders.
Trump reacted on Truth Social, calling the lawmakers’ remarks “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!!” and writing in another post: “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”
White House: Media “Misrepresented” Trump’s Response
The new White House site includes a fact-check-style section labeled “The Offense,” accusing the three outlets of distorting Trump’s comments.
Under “The Truth,” the administration argues that Democrats “subversively implied that President Trump had issued illegal orders to service members,” asserting that, “Every order President Trump has issued has been lawful.”
“It is dangerous for sitting Members of Congress to incite insubordination in the United States military, and President Trump called for them to be held accountable,” the page states.
“Offender Hall of Shame” and Running List of Disputed Claims
Below the weekly offender section, the website includes an “Offender Hall of Shame” featuring major outlets the White House accuses of repeated misinformation. The current list includes the Washington Post, CBS News, CNN, and MSNBC.
The site also maintains a categorized archive of claims the administration labels false or misleading, sorted into sections such as “Bias,” “Malpractice,” “Lie,” and “Left-wing lunacy.”
The initiative marks one of the administration’s most aggressive efforts to publicly confront debated news coverage, escalating the ongoing conflict between the Trump White House and the establishment media.
