Protests Escalate Across Major Cities
What began as another wave of “No Kings” demonstrations quickly spiraled into unrest in several parts of the country on Saturday. Tens of thousands gathered in Manhattan, where the atmosphere ranged from peaceful protest to more radical displays. Near Times Square, some demonstrators openly called for a communism, chanting “there is only one solution, communist revolution,” while waving red flags.
While New York City officials reported no protest-related arrests, other cities couldn’t say the same. In Los Angeles, federal authorities a group of over 1,000 surrounded a federal building, throwing rocks and other objects at officers, leaving two injured. Portland saw clashes intensify after dark, with protesters breaching a federal facility, assaulting officers, leading to multiple arrests. In Dallas, police stepped in to separate demonstrators from counter-protesters as confrontations grew heated.
The protests, now in their third major mobilization since last summer, appear increasingly complex—both in size and in the range of groups involved. Critics argue that some participating organizations have more radical affiliations, while supporters maintain the demonstrations reflect broader dissatisfaction with political leadership.
Immigration Debate Intensifies on Capitol Hill
Meanwhile, the national debate over immigration took a dramatic turn in Washington. During a House hearing, Representative Pramila Jayapal suggested that illegal immigrants should be owed reparations for what she described as “trauma” caused by recent enforcement policies.
Her remarks went further, insisting that officials involved in immigration crackdowns could face prosecution under a future administration. The comments reflect growing pressure within parts of the Democratic Party to not only roll back enforcement measures but to punish the current administration for upholding the law.
Senate Democrats continue to block key funding legislation for the Department of Homeland Security, pushing for increased restrictions on immigration enforcement practices. The issue remains one of the most politically charged in the country, especially following the 2024 election, where it was commonly listed as a top three issue for voters.
Tiger Woods Involved in Florida Crash
Golf legend Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida. Authorities confirmed that Woods was arrested following the incident and charged with DUI and property damage, though he did not suffer injuries.
The crash came during what had been a tentative return to competition for Woods after a series of serious injuries in recent years, including a major car accident in 2021 and subsequent surgeries. Just days before the incident, he had appeared in a professional event for the first time in over a year.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, adding another chapter to the athlete’s long and often challenging road back to the sport.

Well none of the left’s violent, invasive protests are being called insurrection – when in fact they ARE, and violence needs to be jailed. But, no, only the so-called “democrats” get to (politically) jail people.
in my earlier comment, I said the Jan 6 demonstration was “warranted” – (and politically punished with torturous jail sentences for all but ANTIFA, who really started the violence). I say “warranted” because in the 2020 election, four Red states at midnight magically turned “blue” by the morning – after 140,000 shrink-wrapped ballots showed up, almost simultaneously, at those four states’ polls. This was witnessed by an investigative reporter.
