A staffer for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was reportedly attacked and robbed by an illegal immigrant with a history of five arrests in the past year. The suspect, who had been living in a taxpayer-funded hotel, is allegedly linked to the notorious Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua (TdA).

The gang, known for its extensive criminal operations, counts among its members convicted murderer Jose Ibarra, responsible for the killing of Laken Riley, as well as individuals implicated in taking over apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, and San Antonio, Texas.
This incident adds to the ongoing scrutiny of DA Bragg, who has faced widespread criticism for his prosecutorial decisions. Recently, Bragg charged Marine Corps veteran Daniel Penny with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide after Penny intervened during a subway altercation involving Jordan Neely, a homeless man reportedly threatening passengers.
Interrogation footage recently released sheds light on Penny’s account of the incident. Penny stated he acted to protect fellow passengers, emphasizing that his intention was not to harm Neely but to prevent violence.
“I wasn’t trying to injure him. I’m just trying to keep him from hurting anybody else,” Penny explained during questioning. Penny highlighted that his actions were rooted in his military training, adding, “That’s what we are taught in the Marine Corps.”
Detective Brian McCarthy, who conducted the interrogation, later revealed that Penny was not informed of Neely’s death at the time. When asked if he felt someone’s life was in danger, Penny responded, “100%.”

Despite initially receiving praise from New York City officials, including Mayor Eric Adams, Bragg ultimately sided with the far-left and decided to charge Penny, who now faces a potential 15-year prison sentence.
Other Legal Controversies
Bragg has also drawn negative attention for his handling of the prosecution of President-elect Donald Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The charges, related to alleged hush-money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign, have sparked fierce legal debate and, according to data, have strengthened Trump’s political standing.
Critics argue that Bragg’s strategy—elevating a typically misdemeanor offense to a felony by asserting intent to conceal another crime—is an untested and potentially dangerous legal theory. Trump’s legal team contends that sentencing in the case could have destabilizing political ramifications.
Despite these criticisms, Bragg maintains that his actions are grounded in the rule of law and is seeking to suspend Trump’s case until the president-elect leaves office in 2029.

Not really a problem. Since the gang member is not a Republican, Bragg won’t have the perp arrested or charged
Difficult to have any sympathy for the Manhattan DA’s Office or for the NYC voters who put him in office.
Reap what U sow Bragg its on U
One legal authority likened the case to arresting someone for jaywalking, elevating it to a felony, then counting each step as a separate felony. Bragg is part of the fascist Democrat weaponized judicial system, acting just like the Nazis and Soviets did.
Alvin Bragg should be hounded the same why he houded Trump. The department of justice should leave no stone unturned in it’s investigation of Bragg.
Bragg wouldn’t recognize a legitimate law if it leaped out of a law book and punched him in the nose. His “rule of law:” is whatever his master Soros and his lefty lib voters tell him to do. The man should be disbarred.
