In a shocking revelation, former CBS News correspondent Catherine Herridge has gone public with her account of how the network suppressed a crucial investigative story on Hunter Biden ahead of the 2020 election. Herridge, who was let go earlier this year by CBS after nearly two decades with the network in a round of layoffs, has shed light on what she described as a “sickening” experience when she realized her Hunter Biden reporting would not air. Her departure from the network, and the revelation surrounding the suppression of this story, has ignited a firestorm of criticism against CBS and raised further questions about media bias during the 2020 presidential election.
Herridge, was reportedly working on a bombshell story about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and China, an issue that would later become a focal point during the Biden administration. The story detailed Hunter Biden’s alleged financial connections to foreign entities, with key figures in Ukraine and China, and raised questions about whether his father, Joe Biden, was compromised by his son’s business dealings.
She said, “I told Ciprian-Matthews the vetted materials included a million dollar retainer from a Chinese energy firm, emails with Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski as well as Hunter Biden text messages.”
According to Herridge, the story was thoroughly vetted by her team and was set to run. However, at the last minute, CBS executives killed the report, citing “political sensitivity” just weeks before the November 2020 election. Herridge recalled feeling a deep sense of frustration and disillusionment when she realized the story wouldn’t air.
Herridge’s account has sparked a broader conversation about journalistic integrity, editorial influence, and the role of media outlets in shaping political narratives, particularly during an election year. The suppression of the Hunter Biden story has been a subject of much debate, with many conservatives accusing mainstream media outlets and big tech giants of intentionally suppressing the story to protect Joe Biden’s candidacy.
The Hunter Biden story, which was initially reported by The New York Post in October 2020, made waves when it claimed to have obtained emails from a laptop that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden. The emails were said to show that Hunter Biden had arranged meetings between his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, and foreign business partners.
The story was quickly dismissed by mainstream media outlets, with some dismissing it as a “Russian disinformation” campaign, despite no evidence emerging to substantiate such claims. Many media outlets, including CBS, downplayed the significance of the story, and some even refused to cover it altogether. Herridge’s own experience appears to corroborate the allegations that her former network actively suppressed the story to avoid damaging the Biden campaign in the final stretch before the 2020 election.
Having spent years covering national security and investigative stories for CBS, Herridge was known for her meticulous reporting and strong journalistic standards. Her ousting at the network after what she described as a “betrayal” of her work highlights the challenges faced by many journalists who encounter political interference or corporate pressure while attempting to report the facts.
Many critics argue that mainstream media outlets like CBS, NBC, and The New York Times have engaged in a coordinated effort to suppress stories that could harm Democrats, especially during critical election cycles.
In response to Herridge’s claims, CBS News issued a statement defending its editorial decisions. The network did not address the specifics of Herridge’s claims but stated, “We are committed to journalistic integrity and maintaining the highest standards in reporting. Any decisions made regarding editorial content are in line with those principles.”
Herridge’s revelations serve as a reminder that, even in the digital age, media organizations remain powerful gatekeepers of the information that shapes public perception. As media organizations come under increasing scrutiny for their editorial decisions, it remains to be seen whether they will shift their approach or continue to allow political calculations to shape their coverage.

It’s nice to see there is some journalistic integrity left. CBS, the former home of one of America’s most trusted anchors, Walter Cronkite has turned into a sewer of misinformation and bias. Along with ABC and NBC not to mention the trash networks of CNN and MSNBC, it’s hard to find factual reporting…just opinion pieces from stupid people.
