First Democrat Publicly Calls To Replace Schumer As Dem Leader

Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer’s reputation is going up in flames…

Democrat Maryland Rep. Glenn Ivey called for Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer to step down from leadership on Tuesday.

“I respect Chuck Schumer. I think he had a great, long-standing career,” Ivey told his constituents during a town hall meeting in his deep-blue Maryland district in close proximity to Washington, D.C. “But I’m afraid that it may be time for the Senate Democrats to get a new leader.”

“I know shutting down the government is not good, I’ve tried to oppose it every time I could, but in this particular instance, it was something that we needed to do,” he added.

The crowd reportedly burst into applause following Ivey’s call for Schumer to step down as Senate Democrat Leader, according to The Daily Caller.

Ivey’s comments come as Schumer faces widespread anger from the Democrat Party’s base and congressional Democrats over his decision to vote to advance the GOP spending bill to avoid a government shutdown on Friday.

Many congressional Democrats are urging Schumer to escalate tactics against the Republican-controlled Senate but Ivey was the first Democrat lawmaker to publicly call for his ouster from Senate leadership.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) also took a not-so-subtle dig at Schumer on Tuesday.

“I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi said during a San Francisco press conference. “I think that’s what happened the other day.”

Pelosi had urged Senate Democrats to defy Schumer and vote against the bill last week, claiming they were being sold a “false choice.”

“I salute Leader Hakeem Jeffries for his courageous rejection of this false choice, and I am proud of my colleagues in the House Democratic Caucus for their overwhelming vote against this bill,” she said. “America has experienced a Trump shutdown before – but this damaging legislation only makes matters worse. Democrats must not buy into this false choice. We must fight back for a better way.”

Schumer, meanwhile, argued that while the continuing resolution was a “terrible option,” a government shutdown would be even worse for the Democratic Party.

“The Republican bill is a terrible option,” he said on Thursday. “It is deeply partisan. It doesn’t address far too many of this country’s needs. But I believe allowing Donald Trump to take even much more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option.”

Schumer doubled down on those remarks on The View Tuesday, saying, “There are many fewer cuts in their bill than there would be in a shutdown. It was a bad choice. We have two choices: one bad, the other devastating — one chops off one of your fingers, the other chops off your arm.”

Boy, they REALLY wanted the country to SHUT down so that they could blame Trump. I would say they have the interest of the country at heart, unless it interferes with their personal HATE, or is FEAR OF Tromp. I’m going with FEAR, because before Trump entered politics, and was just a successful WEALTLY entrepreneur. Real Estate Developer, they were hanging around his neck like strings of pearls, especially Nancy Pelosi. who LOVES rubbing elbows with the wealthy

Once he announced his intentions to enter politics and DRAIN THE DC SWAMP, he became the most vile persona non grata to all those who had had their finger in the pie

I actually do NOT like Chuck Schumer, but I respect his for his decision to keep the country open for the same of the people which to me seems like a non-partisan decision

Of course Nancy Pelosi taking a not-so-subtle dig at Schumer is really a joke. Sorry but both of them should go crawl back under their rock.

Get rid of Schumer. Get rid of Pelosi. Get rid of Nadler. Le the young Turks come in and see how badly they fail with their lack of intelligence, misunderstanding what the voters want, and being all full of themselves. They are just as “out of touch” as their elders.

“I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi said during a San Francisco press conference. I suspect that’s true. Somebody check with Paul.
