A Democrat state lawmaker plans to sue Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) to block him from using funds to arrange more flights for migrants from the border.
Florida Senator Jason Pizzo (D) accused the governor of breaking the law last week when he transported nearly 50 migrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard and said his legal challenge is “imminent,” according to CBS News.
Pizzo says he wants to take DeSantis to court to prevent the governor from using any more taxpayer dollars to fund the flights. However, DeSantis justified the flights by pointing to the state budget that sets aside $12 million for a new program to transport migrants unlawfully in the United States. A majority of Democrats voted to approve the measure, including Pizzo.
“The legislature gave me $12 million. We're going to spend every penny of that to make sure that we are protecting the people of the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.
However, Pizzo points out that the budget states that the money was for transporting those individuals “from this state.” All of the individuals transported by Florida were picked up in Texas.
Despite the Florida Democrat's threats and DeSantis staring down a separate class action lawsuit the governor has said he plans to continue sending migrants to Democrat-led “sanctuary cities.” (RELATED: DeSantis Decides to Play Hardball With Biden's Border Crisis)
“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states' and support for the Biden administration's open border policies,” DeSantis spokesperson Taryn Fenske told Fox News Digital.

I get it. The Democrats are embarrassed. Their hypocrisy regarding illegal immigrants is being exposed. However, most decent people when embarrassed by their actions will change their behavior. Not these Democrats.
Democrats were for sanctuary cities before actually showing us that they were really against them.
Biden is using taxpayer money to transport illegals all over the country so they should go after him too.
DeSantis should declare this as a “humanitarian effort” to provide the illegal invaders with a better quality of life. Florida and Texas are full.
Since the administration is using the money that both the state house and senate approved to get rid of the illegals and send them to where those in charge has said they are welcome and are making their cities/states as a sanctuary place for all of them.It only makes sense to send them someplace that can handle and care for them.
Why isn’t Biden admin arranging housing, food, medical care and other support for all these people being allowed in? Instead it seems to me that they’re all just coming in and being homeless people in the border towns that must then deal with their needs and the attendant crime. It seems like the most humane thing to do until this happens is to ship them to places like Martha’s Vineyard where the upscale liberals will have to pitch in.
this man has the country behind him and what he is doing is not illegal. The people (Democrats and President Biden) wanted them to come into our country illegally and it is his right to keep them out of his state because he is working for the people of his state just like Texas is working for their state. If you don’t want them in your state, change parties or tell your President to stop the slow he started.
I’d think the so called democrats whore nothing but a bunch of fascists would welcome all the illegal aliens in their sanctuary cities and states. They all want to do away with law enforcement. With the illegal aliens they could REALLY have the crime wave they seem to prefer.
