Disturbing Details From the Victim
During the sentencing hearing, Rachel, Jessup’s youngest daughter, described what happened:
-Jessup repeatedly pushed her to drink alcohol, urging her to “keep up” with him.
-When Rachel asked for a break, he pressured her to continue drinking.
-After returning to their hotel room, Rachel became sick and showered before falling asleep.
-She woke up to find her father molesting her.
Rachel later said the assault caused her severe PTSD, depression, and forced her to undergo testing for sexually transmitted diseases.
Jessup reportedly told her, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
Public Misleading and Delayed Revelation
At first, news reports only mentioned that Jessup had “assaulted a woman.” It wasn’t until after he won election to office that Rachel came forward and revealed that she was the victim.
Speaking about the public’s support for her father, Rachel said:
“I just told myself, ‘They’re uninformed. You can’t be mad because they don’t have the full story.’ “
Political Career Ends in Disgrace
Before the criminal charges, Jessup held roles including:
-Hancock County Commissioner
-Hancock County Councilman
Following the guilty plea and sentencing, he was forced to resign from public office.

It’s not often that I come across a news article accusing a Republican of sexual assault, especially one involving his own daughter. I’m ashamed of his actions. Crimes of alleged incest are relatively infrequently reported and I’m not familiar with the statistics on that, but I’ve always held that incest is one of the worst crimes to commit.
Justice
His last name is Jessie….so he’s more than like a Mormon. 😡
