Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett openly admitted to rooting for Canada and Mexico over her own nation due to her disdain for former President Donald Trump. On a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Crockett expressed support for the two nations’ opposition to Trump’s administration, though both have capitulated to Trump’s demands.
“I’m rooting for Canada and I’m rooting for Mexico a lot,” Crockett said. “They are really the ones that are speaking truth to power right now… They can see what it is and they were like, ‘We are not messing with this crazy regime from Mar-a-Lago,’ and basically calling them thugs. That’s what it is.”
The Texas representative has long been a vocal critic of Trump, but her position on this issue is striking, as it appears to place her political animus ahead of her duty to serve her own constituents and her country. In this instance, Crockett is endorsing the actions of foreign governments that are willing to oppose policies proposed by an American president — policies that, whether one agrees with them or not, were legally passed and reflect the will of a significant portion of the American electorate.
The controversy centers on Trump’s decision to influence Canada and Mexico to strengthen their border security in exchange for a temporary pause on tariffs that had been designed to hurt cripple the economies of both countries, who rely much more on trade with the United States than the United States relies on trade with them. While Crockett has been outspoken in her opposition of Trump’s tariff strategy, her remarks take a turn into what many consider an unpatriotic territory when she goes as far as to “root” against her own country in favor of its international critics.
The idea that Crockett would openly align herself with two foreign governments in direct opposition to a sitting American president — especially as an elected official representing American citizens — raises serious questions about her priorities and sense of duty. Democrats have long been accused of lacking patriotism compared to their Republican counterparts, a stereotype that has been used to paint them as less concerned about the well-being of the United States. Rep. Crockett’s remarks only serve to reinforce that narrative, as she has essentially placed her political vendetta against Trump over her responsibility to support American interests.
By supporting Mexico and Canada’s defiance of U.S. policies, Crockett appears to be undermining the sovereignty of her own country and putting her personal politics ahead of national security and economic interests. As part of a broader political battle, the congresswoman is signaling that opposition to Trump’s policies takes precedence, even if it means siding with foreign powers against American leadership.
Former CNN host Chris Cilizza recently warned Democrats against allowing their hatred of Trump to drive their strategy, and Crockett’s openly cheering for foreign powers is a disturbing example of what happens when they do. The role of a U.S. lawmaker is to represent and protect the interests of their constituents and the nation as a whole, not to applaud foreign governments in opposition to the American people’s will.

Crockett is so stupid she makes AOC look intelligent. Our government should never contain anyone rooting against America. The people in her district in Texas cannot be very intelligent or very patriotic. They should find someone rooting for America to represent them or forfeit their right to be represented. Rooting against our country is unacceptable.
Perhaps she needs to relocate to one or the other of those countries she admires so much. OTOH I doubt either of them would willingly take her in. I suspect that there would be LOTS of volunteers to help he pack and even give her a ride to the border…………………BTW it should be a one way trip and she would need to renounce her Citizenship. It would be ‘interesting’ to see what would happen to her if she tried to pull her ‘stunts’ in either country.

Crockett needs to be banned from serving in our government. She is an enemy of America. I don’t care what you think of President Trump, trashing our country because you “hate the man” does not serve our country well. What is wrong with liberals? They have so much hate for President Trump, their brains are fried. President Trump is far from perfect as a man (as most aren’t), but his policies are in the best interest of our country. The MSM is constantly trashing this administration because of this hate. Our country is in deep trouble. MAGA.
It seems that there has been a morphing of the practice and perceived purpose of a Representative. It has become a position of Activism, rather than representing U.S. citizens. The Representatives have taken the roll of “Telling” rather than “Listening”. Hating rather than loving.
