Kamala Harris still has yet to sit down for a real interview — but she did sit down with her own vice presidential candidate to make sure the American people knew what kind of music they listen to and what they put on their tacos.
While both Harris and Walz made a point of reciting vague left of center platitudes, and allude to former experiences that made them want to get involved in politics, nothing of substance was discussed in the interview. No policies, no real platform, no new information for the American people. The most she revealed about her plans for the 90 days leading up to the election was her intent to “keep the pedal to the metal.” She also declared that “we can’t have a country that lets people fall through the cracks” and “when you look in the face of a stranger you should see a neighbor.”
The interview starts off with Tim Walz making self deprecating jokes about flavorless, low effort “white guy tacos” consisting of ground beef and cheese and black pepper being the most potent the average Minnesota palate could handle.
Readers may want to note that this was entirely performative, because in 2016 he won first place at Sen. Al Frankel’s annual “Hotdish Off” for his “Turkey Taco Tot Hotdish Off” that included green chilis, chili powder and taco sauce.
Harris went on to say that she believes she’s the only Vice President that has grown chili peppers.
They then went on to discuss other top priorities for the American people like the kind of music they listened to. Walz proclaimed his love for Bruce Springsteen and reminisced on his old Chevy Camaro with an 8 track player and listening to Bob Sager’s Night Moves in it, while Harris shared her affinity for Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. President Trump also did an Interview with a famous streamer where they listened to music in a car, but in sharp contrast Kamala Harris, Trump hasn’t hesitated to discuss policy or give interviews.
In this bizarre sit down, they asserted their campaign is the “underdog campaign” despite the incredible grace they’ve been given considering their huge missteps in the weeks since she became the presumptive nominee.
