In the wake of her defeat in the 2024 presidential election, Kamala Harris is reportedly seeking counsel from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she weighs her political future. Both women have shared unique milestones in American politics—Clinton as the first woman to win a major party’s presidential nomination and Harris as the first female vice president—but both have also faced significant political setbacks, including their defeats by Donald Trump.
While the full details of their conversations remain private, sources close to Harris suggest that she has consulted not only Clinton but also family members and close confidants as she considers her next move. The 60-year-old former vice president has indicated she’s not ready to close any doors on her political career, including a potential 2028 presidential bid, although the path forward remains uncertain.
Harris—who made history as the first woman and first woman of color to serve as vice president—was elevated to the top of the Democratic ticket in 2024 following President Joe Biden’s abrupt withdrawal from the race. Harris was tasked with running a national campaign with just over three months to go before election day. In the end, she, too, was defeated by Trump, who was seeking a comeback after leaving office in 2021.
While Harris publicly stated that she would “stay in the fight” after her loss, she has not yet clarified what that means in concrete terms.
As Harris reflects on her political future, a number of paths are being speculated. Some allies believe that she may run for California governor in 2026, when incumbent Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is term-limited. Others suggest she might aim for another presidential bid in 2028, with some seeing her as a natural contender for the Democratic nomination after Biden’s departure from the scene.
The comparison to former President Richard Nixon looms large in this discussion. Nixon famously lost the 1962 California gubernatorial race after having been vice president under Dwight D. Eisenhower and failing to secure the presidency in 1960 against John F. Kennedy. However, Nixon went on to make a remarkable political comeback, winning the presidency in 1968.
That seems like an ambition bordering on the delusional for Harris, with neither the political savvy, talent or intelligence of Nixon.
Recently, she established an LLC named Pioneer49 in California, a nod to both her Secret Service codename and her position as the 49th vice president. However, if she does seek office again, it will be against the backdrop of a bruising electoral defeat.
In a recent interview, Biden suggested that his continued candidacy could have helped secure a victory over Trump, a remark that many have seen as undermining Harris’ own campaign. Though Harris refrained from publicly criticizing Biden during the race, some within the party have noted that she might have faced an uphill battle from the start—especially given Biden’s seeming reluctance to withdraw from the race.

Loser to Loser
I don’t like Kamala, but I have a message for her. Do not look to Hillary for any advice. She’s the biggest sore loser of them all. She’ll never get over it. As for KH, her political career is over. She’ll never be accepted, and I’d be willing to bet, not even running for Governor in Cali. Huge amounts of campaign money only to end $20M in debt. That’s just what Cali. doesn’t need. JA Grewsom was bad enough. So, KH, just get a divorce and go away. You’re done.
would’t 69 be more appropriate than 49
Kamala, Hillary revisited! An egregious democrat ultra liberal b—h!
Not a woman of color. Their next plans should be retire and move along.

Harris is a goof. Does she forget that in 2020 she dropped out of the race before the first primary / caucus occurred? She couldn’t raise any money!! And are her donors going to forget how she blew threw $2 BILLION in 90 days? Why would anyone trust her w/ their finances, whether state or federal? She is the ultimate DEI hire. She was only VP because Biden painted himself into a corner by saying he’d bring a black female on board. He’d have done better with Oprah Winfrey. Harris did nothing to advance the “cause” of black females: if that’s what the average black female hire has to offer, forget it. . . .
