Now-Deleted Posts Expressed Concern for Iran After U.S. Bombing of Nuclear Sites
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) is under fire after its official X account briefly posted a message expressing sympathy for Iran following a U.S. military strike targeting the regime’s nuclear weapons program.
“Our hearts go out to the victims and families impacted by the recent bombings in Iran,” the post read. “While this tragic event occurred overseas, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is closely monitoring the situation alongside our local, state, and federal partners.”

The message was deleted, but not before raising serious questions about why the largest sheriff’s department in the United States would appear to lament the loss of Iranian military personnel and nuclear scientists — individuals tied to a program widely condemned by the international community.
The Strike That Sparked It All
The post followed Operation Midnight Hammer — a U.S. precision strike revealed to the world Saturday night — that deployed 75 bunker-penetrating and guided munitions against Iran’s Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities. The mission was designed to significantly set back Iran’s uranium enrichment program, which has violated international limits for years.
- 75 precision weapons used
- Targets included Fordo, Natanz, Isfahan
- Goal: Cripple nuclear weapons development
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran had enriched uranium to 60% purity by 2022 — far above the 3.67% cap under the 2015 JCPOA agreement. A 2023 report even found uranium particles enriched to 83.7%, dangerously close to weapons-grade. As of last month, Iran’s stockpile of 60%-enriched uranium had allegedly reached 408 kilograms — enough for nine nuclear weapons if further processed.
Sheriff’s Department Walks It Back
In a revised statement, the LASD emphasized homeland security cooperation in the aftermath of the strike:
“At the moment, there are no known threats to Los Angeles County. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are increasing patrol checks at places of worship and other sensitive locations throughout the county.”
This second message also vanished from the department’s feed shortly afterward.
Some analysts believe the original tone of the post may have been shaped by local demographics. Los Angeles is home to one of the largest Iranian-American communities outside Iran — nearly 400,000 strong — earning it the nickname Tehrangeles.
Still, the backlash was swift. Critics accused the department of signaling moral equivalence between American military efforts to deter nuclear threats and a regime known for state-sponsored terrorism.
In a later comment, the department reportedly acknowledged the post was “offensive.”
What Comes Next
As tensions rise abroad, concerns are also growing at home. Customs and Border Protection recently warned that the risk of Iranian sleeper cells inside the U.S. is “never higher.” LASD says it will continue working with federal agencies to monitor developments.

Even Peter J. Pitchess would not have made such a ridiculous comment………………….
Why are so many Iranians in the USA when so many of them hate America?
As always, the LASD is focused and right on top of things. All that stuff going on in LA and LA county has been “mostly peaceful” right? Just ignore you lying eyes! No out of control demonstrations. Nothing has burned, no damage or vandalism. Nothing to see here! Just move along! We’ll just post this so the MSM gushes about how we are slamming Trump. Golly. That’s the most important thing, right?
Fire Him!
Interesting coming from a sheriff in LA California One of 2 cities NYC being the other targeted by Iran and would be the first to be nuked off the earth if they had a bomb.
