One of former President Donald Trump's co-defendants weighed in last night in a Laura Ingraham exclusive on the charges brought against him in Fulton County, Georgia.
Appearing on Ingraham's Fox News show, ex-Trump lawyer John Eastman falsely claimed that he “had lots of evidence of [election] fraud.”
Ingraham quickly interjected, saying that she hadn't seen any evidence of widespread voter fraud while desperately trying not to alienate any die-hard Trump supporters. “I haven't seen that evidence, and I'm always wanting to see everything,” she replied. “I'd love to see that evidence.”
Per Mediate:
Eastman was booked last week in Fulton County, Georgia after being indicted under the state's Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act along with 18 others, including former President Donald Trump. District Attorney Fani Willis alleges the defendants ran afoul of the statute when they tried to overturn the election results in the state, which Trump lost.
After the election, Eastman claimed Republican-controlled legislatures in states Trump lost could invalidate the results. He further claimed that as presiding officer over the election certification in Congress, then-Vice President Mike Pence had the authority to refuse to certify the election.
Appearing on Tuesday's edition of The Ingraham Angle, Eastman repeated the false claim that substantial fraud took place.
Ingraham swiftly moved on to another topic. Fox News recently settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million – the largest ever – after allowing some hosts and guests to make baseless allegations about voting machines in the 2020 presidential election.
Smartmatic, another voting technology company, is seeking $2.7 billion in damages from Fox.
