Could former MSNBC host Joy Reid be planning to turn her back on the Democrat Party?
Reid appeared on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, where she discussed her ousting from MSNBC earlier this year and her disappointment in the current state of the Democrat Party.
Reid told Charlamagne Tha God that she’s “barely hanging on” with Democrats at the moment.
“I’ve been a Democrat since I was old enough to vote, but I’m barely hanging on, honestly, because at this point the party is not bigger than the future of my kids,” Reid said. “You know what I mean? Like, I have three children. I have a daughter and two sons that have to live in this country as Black people. And fascism don’t work for me, you know? And I’m not willing to cede the country to Trumpism and MAGA simply because I’m clinging to this party.”
Reid called out Democrats upset with former White House Press Sec. Karine Jean-Pierre over her announcement that she is leaving the party not long after her time as a press secretary in former President Joe Biden’s administration.
“People are getting all mad at Karine Jean-Pierre for saying…I’m mad at that because I’m like, at this point it isn’t, who cares what the party label is? Give me an effective fighter,” she said.
Reid argued that progressives like Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) are the most effective fighters, but they are being ignored by the party’s mainstream wing. Crockett bowed out of the bid this week to become the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee. (RELATED: Jasmine Crockett Drops Out Of Race For Top House Oversight Committee Democrat)
“It was clear by the numbers that my style of leadership is not exactly what they were looking for, and so I didn’t think that it was fair for me to then push forward and try to rebuke that,” Crockett explained to reporters.
However, in a smaller election by a key House Democratic panel on Monday night, Crockett and two others lost to Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif) Crockett signaled she came in last of the four, telling reporters on Tuesday, “They were clear that I was the one that made the least sense in their minds.
During a separate interview CNN, Reid made the outrageous claim that the Middle East would be “safer” if Iran has nuclear weapons.
Reid is hardly the only one reconsidering their political affiliations.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) called the prospect of caucusing with Democrats an “interesting hypothetical” on the “GD Politics” podcast with Galen Druke.
Murkowski said the “problem” she had with Druke’s hypothetical was that “as challenged as we may be on the Republican side, I don’t see the Democrats being much better.”
She said the Democrats also have policies that she inherently disagrees with.
Druke, arguing that Murkowski would not have to become a Democrat to caucus with them, asked, “Is there world in which by becoming unaligned or an independent that you could help Alaskans, you’d consider it?”
“There may be that possibility,” she said, noting that the Alaska legislature currently features a coalition with members of both parties.

Don’t trust that 2 face pig
I don’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth.
So, she’s gone FULL CRAZY!!! If this dummy had a brain, she’d know that the ONLY thing protecting her and her kids is President Trump and the MAGA policies/laws. Without him and them, her kids would probably all be another gender and completely nuts. Maybe they already are.
…she is palpably batshit crazy…I put my neck on the line in the ’60s in support of the Civil Rights Law of 1965, and she thinks she and her ilk can delete that in 2025? …I don’t think so!
