After years of staunch support for the Democratic Party, veteran sports commentator Stephen A. Smith now says he regrets voting for Kamala Harris and expresses growing frustration with the party’s tactics. Speaking candidly in an interview with conservative commentator Mark Levin on Fox News, Smith admitted that his loyalty to the Democrats has waned, and he is now “open-minded” enough to give the GOP a fair shot at earning his vote.
Smith, who has long been a vocal critic of Republican policies, shocked many by acknowledging that he had never cast a vote for a Republican candidate in his life. Now, following a series of disappointments with the Democratic leadership, particularly under President Joe Biden, he’s reassessing his political allegiances.
In his interview, Smith didn’t mince words. He confessed to feeling disillusioned with the party he supported for years, particularly with the current Democratic leadership. When asked about his vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Smith said, “I don’t like the fact that I did. I don’t like what I’m seeing.” His criticism didn’t stop there; he went on to slam the Democrats for what he called their “fear-mongering” tactics.
“I’m tired of the Democrats constantly telling us who we shouldn’t vote for without offering a compelling reason to vote for them,” Smith said. He expressed frustration with what he perceives as a lack of a substantive plan from the Democratic Party. “Why don’t you come up with a plan that tells us why we should vote for you?” he asked, emphasizing that voters need more than just negative campaigning to make an informed decision.
Smith’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among many voters who feel that the Democratic Party, especially in recent years, has become increasingly divisive and focused on identity politics rather than substantive policy solutions.
He criticized the hypocrisy he perceives in the party’s messaging, specifically regarding accountability and transparency. “I don’t want to hear about, ‘Oh, we’re about the law. Nobody’s above the law.’ But then you go out, and you pardon your son, and you try to blame everybody else for it,” he said, alluding to the ongoing controversies surrounding Hunter Biden and his legal issues.
For Smith, the problem isn’t just with individual politicians but with the broader approach the Democrats have taken. He expressed dissatisfaction with their focus on partisan bickering, pointing out that the party has failed to offer clear solutions to America’s challenges. Instead, Smith feels, the Democrats have relied too heavily on fear-mongering, attempting to paint Republicans as the enemy rather than explaining how they would benefit the American people.
“If Republicans are going to actually campaign on the issues — like they did in this past election — I’m down for it,” he said, emphasizing that his support would be contingent on their ability to deliver solid policy proposals.
“If Trump were allowed to run again, I might even vote for him,” Smith admitted, though he emphasized that Trump would have to demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and a focus on the country’s best interests rather than personal loyalty.
The sports commentator’s frustrations with the Democratic Party are certainly not unique, as many Americans feel similarly disillusioned as the Biden administration comes to a close.

A bit slow and late to the party, aren’t ya???
I’m always heartened to hear of a prominent neo-slave breaking away from the democrat plantation. A little history: in 1863 Lincoln implemented his Emancipation Proclamation and eventually, freed slaves joined the party of Lincoln and became Republicans. After the Civil War, southern democrats instituted Jim Crow laws and founded the KKK to keep these former slaves “in their place.” Then, in the early 60’s, LBJ signed the Voting Rights Act and instituted the Great Society. The give-aways of the Great Society enticed those mostly Republican black citizens to register as democrats and start accepting the Great Society handouts, even though it effectively re-enslaved them. As neo-slaves, they listened to their preachers who had been suborned by white racist Margaret Sanger to slaughter their unborn babies. How many black women would have undergone an abortion had they known how Ms Sanger really felt about blacks and other “undesirables.” Now, race hustlers (Rev Sharpton, perhaps) and racist marxists (obamas, BLM) perpetuate this neo-slavery, substituting CRT and intersectionality for Dr. MLK’s eloquent “. . . judge a person for their character . . .” I Have A Dream speech.
Smith isn’t a very good judge of talent or character if he voted for a cackling idiot like Harris. Most who did realize their mistake now.
All he needed to do was watch their actions and he should have known their plan.
Every Democrat politician or staff member of Joe Biden should be on the hook to pay for the damages they are doing to the USA in a revenge act which is the only way you can describe their actions during the last month or so. In addition they should be charged with what ever damage they are doing, such as directing the sale of all the steel for the southern border fence. That does not belong to them, it belongs to the citizens of the USA who spoke loud adn clear that they want the wall to go up!
