Outgoing Wyoming Republican Liz Cheney has endorsed Democrat incumbent Rep. Elissa Slotkin. Despite saying that she would do “whatever it takes to make sure Donald Trump isn’t anywhere close to the Oval Office” again, today’s announcement marks the first time Cheney has endorsed a member of the opposition party.
Slotkin, a twice-elected Member of Congress, is running for reelection in Michigan’s newly redrawn 7th Congressional District, a marginally GOP-leaning seat against Republican state Sen. Thomas Barrett. The Cook Political Report puts the race in its toss-up category.
Besides her endorsement, Cheney will appear alongside Slotkin at a Nov. 1 rally billed by Slotkin’s campaign as an “Evening for Patriotism and Bipartisanship.”

“I’m proud to endorse Elissa Slotkin,” Cheney said in a statement. “Serving together on the Armed Services Committee, I have come to know Elissa as a good and honorable public servant who works hard for the people she represents, wants what’s best for the country, and is in this for the right reasons.”

Slotkin is a member of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline program, which is reserved for lawmakers running for competitive seats. According to FiveThirtyEight, however, she is favored to win the race over Barrett, with the outlet’s polling average showing Slotkin leading with 50.7 percent to Barrett’s 46.6 percent.

A source close to Cheney characterized Barrett as an “election denier” because he “refuses to acknowledge the results of the 2020 election, fought the certification of the Electoral College, and continues to push former President Trump’s fraudulent claims to this day.”
Aside from her opposition to Barrett, Cheney has spoken highly of Slotkin in the past. The two lawmakers serve on the House Armed Services Committee together, and Slotkin worked at the Defense Department during the Bush administration, when Cheney served at the State Department.
Speaking at Harvard University last week, Cheney reiterated her praise for the embattled Democrat, saying “I know that those are the kinds of people that you can trust with the future of this country.”

What is Cheney so scared about? Could it be all the graft and money laundering that the Cheney’s are guilty of? What about all the ties to the democrats, partnerships, complicity, pay to play? How much money did the Cheney’s put into secret foreign accounts due to weapons of mass destruction? Patriot Act is the instrument used to cover up and to dismiss their corruption, who had this implemented? It is all out there if people will just research outside of the mainstream propaganda.
