Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced that she intends to call for a motion to vacate the chair. She made this announcement during a press conference on the steps of the Capitol Building. Despite a request from Republican National Committee Co-Chair Michael Whatley, Greene remains determined to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson in a vote next week.
Following threats to oust Johnson, Greene became enraged when the House passed a $95 billion aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
Several leading House Democrats have announced that they will cast their votes to save Johnson’s speakership, despite their ideological differences.
