A Public Clash Over U.S. Foreign Policy and Conservative Priorities
Fox News host Mark Levin called out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday after she criticized U.S. military involvement in the growing conflict between Iran and Israel. Levin, a longtime conservative commentator and Trump ally, dismissed Greene as a “shameless nitwit” for comments he characterized as dismissive of Iranian threats to Americans.
The disagreement highlights growing tension within President Trump’s remade Republican Party —between those advocating a more aggressive U.S. stance abroad and those pushing for a noninterventionist, America First approach.
Greene Questions U.S. Involvement in Iran-Israel War

In a lengthy thread posted to X on Sunday, Greene expressed skepticism over American involvement in the escalating Iran-Israel conflict. Her tone mirrored the isolationist views of Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), though she stopped short of directly criticizing Trump, likely sparing her the president’s wrath.
“I don’t know anyone in America who has been the victim of a crime or killed by Iran,” Greene wrote, “but I know many people who have been victims of crime committed by criminal illegal aliens or MURDERED by Cartel and Chinese fentanyl/drugs.”
She argued that while the U.S. government has launched strikes against foreign adversaries, it has not shown the same resolve against Mexican cartels and the flow of deadly drugs across the southern border.
“Neocon warmongers beat their drums of war and act like Billy badasses going to war in countries most Americans have never seen and can’t find on a map,” Greene continued, “but never find the courage to go to war against the actual terrorists who actually do kill Americans.”
While voicing support for Trump overall, Greene distanced herself from the administration’s military posture on Iran:
“I can also support President Trump… while disagreeing on bombing Iran and getting involved in a hot war that Israel started. That’s not disloyalty.”
Levin Responds with Sharp Rebuke

Levin didn’t hold back. In a scathing post to X on Monday morning, the pugnacious host blasted Greene’s framing of the Iranian threat:
“Marjorie Taylor Green, shameless nitwit. How incredibly dumb is this Marjorie Taylor Green?” Levin wrote, misspelling her last name. “You mean the thousands of Americans, especially military personnel, killed and maimed by the Iranian terrorist regime?”
Mediaite has more on the growing divide between two of the right’s loudest voices:
In another post that went up just a few minutes before his rebuke of Greene, he submitted that the congresswoman was part of “America’s Iranian nukes coalition.”
“If the radical Democrats and their Isolationist fake MAGA reprobates had their way, Iran would have nuclear weapons. This is the new gravely dangerous coalition of Marxists-Islamists-isolationists-grifters,” declared Levin. “They’re represented by the likes of Bernie Sanders– AOC-Schumer-Jeffries and Rand Paul-Massie-MTG- Qatarlson-Bannon. And they’re giving aide and comfort to a regime that has murdered directly and indirectly thousands of Americans.”
“Never forget,” he added. “They will forever be opposed and challenged by we, the people — America First loving patriots.”
Greene fired back with a jab of her own, correcting Levin’s spelling and mocking his viewership:
“I also don’t know anyone who watches your show on Fox News. And my last name is Greene.”
An Unresolved Divide in the GOP
This is more than a personal spat. The public clash reflects a broader, unresolved question within the Republican Party: Should the U.S. continue to project military power overseas, or redouble its attention inward — particularly on domestic threats like border security and drug trafficking?
Although Trump hasn’t publicly addressed Greene’s comments, his unrelenting criticism of Massie and other foreign policy dissenters suggests he remains wary of anything that could undermine his image as the undisputed leader of the America First movement. Whether Greene’s stance signals a growing schism within the GOP or remains a political outlier is a question that will likely play out in the coming midterm elections.

Greene is ignoring reality.
You know, when we declared war in WWII, the time for questioning was over. We plowed ahead to take care of our commitment and left the debate behind. MTG gets overlooked by Trump for opposing his actions, while Lindsay Graham is chastised for being in favor of military action. We always have our hawks and doves, as well we should, and they are not wrong to maintain their opinions. Now, most of us are against war, but when a situation calls for a response, it needs to be answered. Ukraine answered with a necessary response but has been chastised for not rolling over on its belly and letting Russia walk all over it. We see the same thing with bullying in schools, and we expect those being bullied just to roll over and take it all. The point of the Iran action, we did it, probably should have, but you can’t let bullies climb back into position again and do what they did before. If victims in school stand up to bullies, the result is expected to be that the bullies have been knocked out of the picture. This regime has to go as it will continue to do exactly what it has done before. We can’t expect to knock a bully down just so they can continue their bullying once more. Ukraine is standing up to a bully, and we can’t leave them standing out in the cold. There is no room in society and in the world for bullying, and when these critters leading countries and acting up in communities continue this behavior, they have to be shown why no one is going to accept it. Superman’s job was to protect the bullied, and we cheered him Maybe we need a few more Supermen, today.
I live in the great State of Georgia and very much like MTG; however, she is not on the right side regarding Iran. Let’s not compare fentanyl to Iran, for heaven’s sake. I remember way too much about Iran; we can take no chances with them developing any kind of nuclear weapon and surely cannot trust anything they say. Iran is the #1 supporter of terrorist groups. MTG obviously does not remember and is unaware of the history of Iran. They are not to be trusted; they must be handled, and President Trump did just that. I am with Pres Trump.
Normally I support everything Marjory Greene stands for, but she is wrong about this.
On another unrelated issue, the so-called “states rights” hero Mark Levin has his hero, states rights killer, father of today’s “government by bureaucracy”, Abe Lincoln’s photo on the shelf behind his desk. Marjory Greene’s unfortunate statement doesn’t even compare with Levin’s position on Lincoln, the man who changed our form of government from a constitutional republic to an oligarchy run by unelected Democrat bureaucrats! Shame on Mark Levin for ignoring the evil that Lincoln inflicted on the Union.
