House Speaker Mike Johnson attempted to bring the room to order while Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) yelled across the aisle, “Y’all caused this!” — before hurling expletives.
Tensions were already high after a school shooting in Colorado the same day left four students injured.

MSNBC Analyst Fired After Blaming Kirk’s Rhetoric for His Death
By Wednesday night, the backlash extended to the media. MSNBC fired political analyst Matthew Dowd after he suggested Kirk’s death was an inevitable consequence of his own speech.
“He was constantly sort of pushing this hate speech,” Dowd said during live coverage of the shooting. “Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.”
Network executives moved swiftly. MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler issued an apology and confirmed Dowd’s firing, calling his remarks “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.”

Mike Johnson shows, once again, how spineless he is. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats would never have backed down, as he always does, and would have insisted on holding a prayer for Kirk. If the Republicans walked out, Pelosi would have sponsored a bill to erect a national monument to Kirk in a place that would cause the maximum aggravation to the Left. The Republicans have a majority in Congress. If they always back down in an attempt to placate the Democrats, they will be held in even more contempt than they are now. The only way to gain respect is to use your power. That means we will see more violence and more assassinations by the Democrats. They are acting as if they believe they are invulnerable, and if the Republicans refuse to impose consequences for what they are doing, then they will be, de facto, invulnerable.
