New Hampshire Democrat Launches Gubernatorial Campaign As Sununu Remains Silent On Reelection Plan

Manchester Mayor is seeking the Democrat nomination for governor of New Hampshire, potentially teeing up a fight against incumbent Gov. Chris Sununu.

In her campaign announcement Tuesday, she said she led the city to “unprecedented progress” in job creation, violent reduction, and affordable housing development. According to Fox News, her campaign will focus on those issues, along with public and protecting access to , Craig said.

“The same challenges we're facing in Manchester are faced by communities across the state,” she said in a statement. “Granite Staters deserve a governor that will partner with cities and towns to tackle our shared challenges and deliver for families.”

Republican Gov.  has not yet said whether he will seek a fifth two-year term.

Last month, the Republican Governor indicated he would not pursue another term but stopped short of making any final decision. (RELATED: Republican Governor Drops Strongest Retirement Hint Yet)

Sununu said “I don't think I'm going to run again” during an interview on “The Greg Hill Show.”

“I'll make a firm decision this summer, not leaning towards it,” Sununu elaborated later. “We just – we're crushing it in , and I just believe that this isn't a career, it's public service.”

“Could I win again? Of course, but it's service and someone else needs to kind of take the mantle … I got kids to put through college and all that sort of thing,” he continued.

At this time in our country’s life it needs dedicated, intelligent, successful conservatives in leadership positions at all levels to insure our country stays a free nation.I say to him and others who may be debating retiring, we need you. Please be the loyal, caring leader you have proven yourself to be and get us through what has been acknowledged as this country’s most dangerous times.I beg each of you to put country before personal desires.
