A new poll gives a surprising look into the truth behind Latino Americans’ real feelings about immigration and the Democrats’ approach to the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
A new Axios/Ipsos poll reveals only 51% of Latinos say the country should prioritize helping migrants who enter the U.S. The results directly contradict claims from the Biden administration, which has chosen to prioritize relaxing restrictions at the border, to disastrous ends.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s June Operational Report documented a record number of 207,416 encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border, including a record amount of terrorist sightings. June marked the fourth consecutive month of more than 200,000 encounters.
With June’s figures, there have now been 1,746,119 total encounters at the southern border in fiscal year 2022.
Per the Washington Examiner:
Latinos told pollsters they are more concerned with crime and gun violence, as well as inflation and supply chain breakdowns than immigration. Two in five people said those issues were front of mind, compared to 1 in 4 who said immigration and climate change were the most concerning national issues.
“Broadly speaking, Hispanic Americans still lean Democratic and look like they’re in step with these specific Democratic policies,” Ipsos Vice President Mallory Newall said in a statement.
However, Newall said the survey serves as an important reminder that Latinos are not a “monolith community,” driving home a point often pushed by conservatives.
“In particular, immigration is where things become more complex, and that shows the nuance that’s needed, on both sides of the aisle, when talking about these issues,” Newall said.
Since hitting the campaign trail, Biden has been dedicated to repealing border policies imposed by previous administrations, which has created an explosion at the border. The administration has repeatedly claimed it is not responsible for the influx of migrants. However, even Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has pointed to Biden’s campaign messaging as a driver behind more caravans’ journey to the border.
Last March, President Obrador blamed Biden’s messaging for the sudden surge.
“Expectations were created that with the government of President Biden there would be a better treatment of migrants. And this has caused Central American migrants, and also from our country, wanting to cross the border thinking that it is easier to do so,” he said at a press briefing.
Earlier Obrador said, “They see [Biden] as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States.”
Latinos have been abandoning the Democrat Party in droves since Biden entered the White House, a move concerning the left as Republicans are poised to take back the House this year.
In April, a Quinnipiac University poll reported Biden’s stunning fall among Hispanic voters, a key voting bloc that partially led to his success in 2020. The poll reported that Biden only received a 26% approval rating compared to his 69% approval rating when he first entered office in 2021.

It would seem to me that anyone with a normal amount of common sense can
see that the democrats are destroying the country day by day. From 2016 to 2020
this country was selling gas and oil, and employment was the highest ever, the
countries that are making fun of us now respected us and were kept in check by
strong leadership and our borders were not being overrun and totally out of our
control, and except in Democrat-controlled cities, we had law and order. The Police have been defunded, criminals are being released without trial, and also
being allowed to steal at leisure. It is unbelieve that in less than a year the country
been turned upside down and some of our cities are Dumps, there is no respect

Biden has been saying since 2019 the US can afford to pay for 2 million immigrants and refugees a year. That’s why he has thrown open the border. He wants to get 2 in million every year.

Sadly, a lot of Latinos probably voted for Biden because they never paid attention to what he started saying in Aug 2019. Of course, the MSM ignored and downplayed it.
Everything Biden and Harris are doing, including doing nothing, is to ensure 2 million “immigrants and refugees“ get in each year.

3) Throughout 2020, VP Harris stated about a dozen times that our southern border should look just like driving across a state line in the US.
4) Biden promised he would stop the border wall – and did.
5) Wa Po, Dec 22, 2020. Biden reaffirmed his intention to bring in 2 million. Biden said he’d reverse Trump immigration policies. Biden said on day one as President he will “carve a path on immigration policy for asylum in the United States to desperate asylum seekers. We could afford to take in a heartbeat another two million.”
