-

Like all famous politicians, has a healthy dose of ambition. In an interview with host , she made it abundantly clear her aspirations haven't wilted after leaving the Trump administration.

The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and South Carolina's first female governor said she's seriously considering a run for the White House in .

“We need to go in a new direction,” Haley told Baier before adding, “I've never lost a race.”

Haley didn't formally announce a presidential campaign but strongly hinted at the prospect, as The Hill reports:

“If I run, I'm running against . That's what I'm focused on, because we can't have a second term of Joe Biden,” Haley said in an interview aired Thursday on Fox News's “Special Report.”

Haley had previously said she wouldn't run against Trump, but appeared to suggest in the Fox News interview that she'd changed her mind on the matter.

“I had a great working relationship with the [former] president. I appreciate all the foreign policy issues we worked on together. But what I will tell you is: the survival of America matters. And it's bigger than one person. And when you are looking at the future of America, I think it's time for new generational change,” Haley said.

She repeated calls for a “young generation” of Washington leaders to surge into the capital.

Observers expect Biden, 80, to announce his reelection campaign soon. Trump, 76, launched his White House bid in November.
