In a troubling incident ahead of the upcoming elections, over 200 stamped mailers intended for Republican House candidate Alison Esposito were discovered abandoned near a creek in New York. This situation has prompted accusations of election interference from local officials, as mailers are critical for down ballot candidates.
The New York Post reports:
More than 200 pieces of mailers in support of GOP congressional candidate Alison Esposito were found strewn near a creek in the Hudson Valley, according to the New York State Republican Party — which filed a complaint with the US Postal Service over the alleged “election interference.”
The mailers, which were meant to promote Esposito’s campaign, were found in a wooded area, raising immediate concerns about their intended delivery and the integrity of the election process. A local resident stumbled upon the mailers while fishing in the creek, leading to swift action from the New York Republican Party. The abandoned mailers, each bearing stamps, were ready for distribution, suggesting they had been intentionally discarded rather than accidentally misplaced.
The complaint reads, “An individual in Wappingers Falls, NY reported to the NY Republican Federal Campaign Committee that approximately 200-250 pieces of political mail were discovered torn and shredded on the side of Brown Road by Sprout Creek, which were intended to be mailed in the custody of USPS.”
In response to the discovery, local law enforcement has been alerted, and an investigation is underway to determine how the mailers ended up in the creek. The New York Republican Party has called for a thorough examination of the incident to identify any wrongdoing. Esposito’s campaign team is also monitoring the situation closely, ensuring that voter outreach continues despite this setback.
All eyes are on USPS, as they’re the most likely suspects for this act of sabotage, as they had the opportunity and potentially had a motive.
USPS spokesman Mark Lawrence said in a statement, “The U.S. Postal Service is committed to the secure, timely delivery of the nation’s Election Mail. The Postal Service is aware of a complaint alleging improper handling of Political Mail being reviewed by the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General and has nothing further to offer.”
In September, the union representing USPS workers endorsed Kamala Harris, raising concerns about conflicts of interest as the USPS handles election mail. Moreover, some believe that no government entity or union representing one should be eligible to make political endorsements.
While voters learn about presidential candidates through interviews, rallies, press conferences and media coverage, down ballot candidates often rely on mailers to make their cases to voters and increase their name recognition.

Postal workers appear to be doing everything they can to work themselves out of a job. Postage was paid, so theft is involved along with tampering and fraud. Don’t try telling us they don’t know who the perp was, either.
Show of hands…who actually thought the election WOULDN’T be rife with Leftist (Democrat) shenanigans?
This isn’t the first time this has happened. The mailman in that area needs to be taken into court, the person has to prove they didn’t do it.
Sorry but any person working for the Post Office that does anything like this needs to go to jail & lose their job.
Any Postal worker who would do this is a FOOL. Union Leader maybe a Democrat but most workers are not. Worked for USPS 35 years and only saw 1 person get fired for a mail dump.
With the advent of Affirmative Action/DEI programs implemented in ALL federal agencies starting in the 70s, we are witnessing the consequences of such misguided and illegal programs – total incompetence, criminal behavior and no trust. Hopefully, President Donald J. Trump will get re-elected POTUS on November 5th and corrective action will begin.
