Poll Shows Biden’s Numbers Dropping Precipitously – Within His Own Party

-

A new Gallup poll shows President 's approval rating has dropped 11 points in the past month – with members of his own party. 's current favorability rating with Democrats stands at a rather precarious 75%.

The surprising news came to light around the same time that Congressman Dean Phillips of Minnesota launched a primary challenge against Biden. (RELATED: Rep. Dean Phillips Announces Primary Challenge Against President Biden)

Phillips, a relatively moderate Democrat representing Minneapolis' wealthier suburbs, believes Biden's vulnerabilities could lead to a second Trump team.

…Biden is at risk of alienating members of his own party with his unequivocal support for Israel, which has carried out a weeks-long bombardment and total siege of Gaza in response to ' Oct. 7 terrorist attacks.

An annual Gallup poll conducted in February found that Democrats sympathized more with Palestinians than Israelis for the first time in the survey's two-decade history.

The divide is particularly stark between generations: Less than half (48%) of Gen Z and millennials believe the U.S. should publicly voice support for , according to a recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll.

…

The big picture: Biden has waved off calls from progressives and pro-Palestinian activists for a ceasefire in Gaza, even as he has privately nudged Israel to delay its ground invasion to secure the release of more hostages.

Four consecutive polls show Biden's support for Israel during the has not translated to higher approval ratings at home.

The RealClearPolitics polling average from Oct. 6 to Oct. 23 shows former President leading Biden by 0.7 points.
