Presidential Candidates Threaten To Sue RNC After Not Qualifying For GOP Debate

-

Presidential candidates and are threatening to sue the Republican National Committee (RNC) after failing to meet the qualifying criteria for tomorrow's presidential primary debate.

Elder went so far as to accuse the RNC of discounting he submitted that show he crossed the one percent polling threshold to make the debate stage. Candidates for Wednesday's debate needed to meet multiple criteria, including having more than 40,000 individual donors and signing a loyalty pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee (something former President refuses to do).

Elder claimed he submitted his debate qualification package to RNC debate supervisor David Bossie; however, the qualifying polling data he submitted came from Rasmussen Reports, whose surveys the RNC will not take into consideration.

The Hill reports:

Elder, who previously staged a failed run for governor in a recall election against Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in 2021, said he met all the requirements set by the RNC to participate in Wednesday's debate in Milwaukee, yet it informed him he was not eligible to participate. He said the committee only informed him after sending in his qualification package for the debate that polls from a specific polling company he used in it weren't valid.

Johnson, a businessman from Michigan, also claimed to have met every requirement for the debate, yet the RNC rejected him. In a statement obtained by independent journalist Ben Jacobs, he said the RNC had preconceived ideas about who they wanted on stage.

“It is clear that from the beginning, the RNC knew who they wanted on the stage and who they wanted to ban from the stage,” Johnson said. “Simply put, this is a flawed decision of a poorly run process of a corrupt organization.”

“The reason, as stated by the RNC, is that Rasmussen Polls have ties to former President Donald Trump — an individual who is not even participating in the upcoming debate,” Elder's campaign said in a statement attached to his post. “Larry Elder has no knowledge about whether Donald Trump has ever worked with Rasmussen previously.”

  1. If the RNC wanted to change the requirements down the road, fine. But these two gentlemen complied with the RNC request. And if there was an issue with using Rasmussen polling, they should have made all the candidates aware of that stipulation. Now the RNC appears comprised over miscommunication. RNC, don’t do a Bud Light management thing here. Just accept that it was a mistake and promise to do a better job next time. Permit these two individuals on the stage.

  2. Remember Ronna McDaniel is about as swift as Ronald McDonald. She is the daughter of Romney which explains her Soros-backed RINOism from her communist socialist father.

  3. I’d like to see President Trump NOT do any debates in the future either, then go on to clinch the GOP nomination anyway.

Maybe that will clue the feckless establishment Republicans in as to what America really thinks about them. Or, based on their performance in standing up for America and its citizens, maybe not.

  4. with Ronna Mc Daniels in charge what do you expect? I would like to donate to Donald Trump but I won’t with her in charge and if the money goes to win red not a chance of getting any of my money Too many RINO’s in the party to share the Winred money.
