Despite the Republican National Committee (RNC), National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC) and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) lagging behind their Democratic counterparts, House Speaker Mike Johnson has managed a particularly impressive fundraising haul, which he’s dispersed amongst his House colleagues.

The Daily Caller reports:

The sum, which the speaker’s office characterized as record-breaking, includes over $8 million for individual candidates and members alongside over $19.4 million for Johnson’s fundraising committees, according to Punchbowl News. Johnson has handed over $26 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) since he became speaker.

Readers should note that both the NRCC and NRSC are particularly hard pressed for funds, as the RNC has recently diverted all of its spending and efforts towards President Trump’s reelection.

After a short-lived fundraising freeze following Joe Biden’s shocking performance in his first debate with Trump of the election cycle, Democrats and their affiliated committees have received a windfall of cash since Harris became the presumptive Democratic nominee, leaving Republicans in the dust and playing what seems to be a never-ending game of catch up.

The Daily Caller continues:

Republican leaders have been working overtime to boost fundraising heading into the 2024 presidential election amid concerns over Democrats’ massive campaign war chest. Democrats spent more on political advertisements in August than Republicans did in almost every major competitive Senate race.

The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF), a super Political Action Committee (PAC) which House Republican leadership and Johnson endorse, announced $18.5 million going toward new advertising reservations in September. Of this amount, $1.4 million is aimed at digital advertising while over $1.75 million is aimed at radio advertisements.

CLF announced that it raised $81.4 million during the third quarter, which tops its previous record of $77.4 million raised in the third quarter of 2020, according to a Tuesday report from Fox News.

CLF President Dan Conston said in a statement, “We continue to raise at levels that allow us to be incredibly impactful this cycle. These crucial resources have enabled us to invest deeply and strategically add more in the must-win races that will determine the Majority.”

Rep. Mike Johnson replaced Rep. Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House last year after Rep. Matt Gaetz led the charge to oust him after a contentious closed door meeting in which Gaetz made a list of demands and threatened McCarthy with a motion to vacate the chair, and McCarthy reportedly dismissed, saying, “If you want to file the motion, file the fucking motion.”

    Deplorable Mark

How is Johnson dispersing the $$$? Are conservatives getting their share, or just the worthless RINOs?
