It’s been a while since the average voter has heard anything about the Green New Deal – but rest assured, the agenda is alive and well – and if Kamala Harris secures the presidency, this disastrous plan will quickly become America’s reality and the taxpayer’s crushing burden.
The Biden-Harris Administration announced a publicly funded $50 million grant to the Climate Justice Alliance (CJA) which will be responsible for distributing the funds among the organizations of their choice.
CJA’s stated objective is to transition to a “new economy” that must be “just and equitable, redressing past harms and creating new relationships of power for the future through reparations.” CJA asserts that “the path to climate justice travels through a free Palestine” and proudly features infamous cop killer and communist icon Assata Shakur, as well as calling for prison abolition and defunding the police.
They list “Equitable Redistribution of Resources and Power” as a key principle, stating their commitment to “actively work against and transform current and historic social inequities based on race, class, gender, immigrant status and other forms of oppression. Just Transition fights to reclaim capital and resources…”
In other words, they’re unapologetic Marxists that want to strip Americans of their property, freedom and rights, using “climate change” and “social justice” as cover – and the Biden Harris administration handed them a slush fund to accomplish their goals.
CJA is on the steering committee for the Green New Deal Network: a coalition that lobbies for the rapid elimination of fossil fuels and a transformation of American society “to be economically, racially, and socially equitable for all” – which recently endorsed Harris’s bid for president.
In case readers have forgotten the details of this left wing wish list, here’s a quick refresher on some of the worst objectives:
- Transitioning to 100% renewable energy within a decade, completely eliminating our most efficient and reliable sources
- Government-guaranteed jobs for every American with a family-sustaining wage, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security
- Phasing out air travel
- Forcing the federal government to ignore deficits and print money
- Economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also notably proposed a 70% tax on the “wealthy” to pay for the deal, going on to compare it to the Emancipation Proclamation. She claimed this tax would only affect billionaires and multi millionaires that weren’t paying their “fair share,” but history indicates that the Left Wing definition of “taxing the rich” somehow always ends up targeting a much lower and broader bracket.
It goes without saying that this would be a disaster for the American people, drowning the country in crippling debt and drastically lowering quality of life for every man, woman and child for decades to come.
But those details don’t matter to most Democrats – especially not Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris was one of the first senators to publicly support the Green New Deal, and even co-sponsored it.
Time and time again, she has taken the marching orders from the most radical wing of her party – or given them herself. Voters have no reason to believe her presidency would be any different. On the contrary, evidence points to a Harris presidency to be the furthest left since America’s founding.
