Thomas Massie Spotted Vacationing With Marjorie Taylor Greene In Costa Rica After Primary Defeat

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., appears to be taking a break from Washington after his bruising primary defeat last week — and he’s doing it alongside another former Trump-world rebel.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Massie is currently vacationing in Costa Rica with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., along with their respective spouses and partners.

According to the outlet, Massie, his wife Carolyn Grace Moffa, Greene and her fiancé Brian Glenn were photographed together on a beach in Costa Rica.

The trip comes only days after Massie lost his Republican primary race to retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein in what became one of the most expensive House primaries in American history.

President Donald Trump heavily backed Gallrein after Massie repeatedly clashed with the administration on several high-profile issues, including the Jeffrey Epstein files and military action involving Iran.

Massie had increasingly become one of the most vocal Republican critics of the Trump administration from the libertarian wing of the GOP, particularly on questions involving government transparency and foreign intervention.

Following the loss, Massie announced Monday that he had already filed paperwork for a possible 2028 run, allowing him to continue fundraising while weighing his political future.

He also vowed to continue pushing for additional disclosures tied to the Epstein files, claiming powerful individuals connected to the scandal still have not been publicly exposed.

Greene, meanwhile, has undergone her own dramatic political split with Trump-world in recent months.

Once one of Trump’s fiercest congressional allies, Greene reportedly fell out with the president after publicly criticizing aspects of the administration’s handling of the Epstein controversy and later opposing military escalation involving Iran.

She retired from Congress earlier this year in the middle of her term shortly after qualifying for her congressional pension, a move that surprised many political observers.

Greene’s fiancé Brian Glenn also recently announced his departure from conservative network Real America’s Voice.

“This has been really the only life I’ve known,” Glenn said during a live White House appearance earlier this month. “Chasing the news, being in front of the camera.”

The internal tensions between Trump and Greene became increasingly public in recent weeks.

During an Oval Office press gaggle earlier this month, Trump jokingly referenced Glenn while taking a swipe at Greene herself.

“You know, you act so good,” Trump told Glenn. “I love this guy. He’s a great guy, even though I don’t love his girlfriend too much.”

The Costa Rica trip has fueled additional speculation about the emerging factional divide within the Republican Party as some formerly staunch Trump allies increasingly break from the administration over issues involving foreign policy, government transparency and executive authority.

Massie and Greene have both cultivated reputations as anti-establishment conservatives skeptical of foreign wars and highly critical of federal institutions, though Greene had previously aligned far more closely with Trump than Massie ever did.

Their alliance now appears to reflect a growing coalition of populist and libertarian-leaning conservatives frustrated with what they view as excessive secrecy surrounding the Epstein files and increasingly hawkish foreign policy positions inside the Republican establishment.

The Epstein issue in particular has become a surprisingly volatile fault line on the right, with some conservatives accusing the administration and Justice Department of withholding politically damaging information tied to wealthy or powerful figures.

Massie has repeatedly accused the Department of Justice of failing to fully comply with federal disclosure laws surrounding Epstein-related documents.

Despite his primary defeat, Massie’s decision to immediately preserve his political operation suggests he may still intend to play a role in Republican politics moving forward — whether through another House run, a statewide campaign or continued activism surrounding issues like the Epstein files and foreign intervention.

For now, however, the congressman appears content to regroup far from Washington alongside one of the GOP’s other most controversial former lawmakers.
