Trump Jr. Says Ex-Fox News Host Is ‘Certainly’ A VP Contender

-

Who could be Donald Trump‘s next running mate?

Trump's eldest son Don Jr. says that former host Tucker Carlson is being discussed as a potential pick for .

During an appearance on conservative cable channel Newsmax Trump Jr. was asked about whether his father would consider Carlson, he said the option was “on the table.”

“I mean they're very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things. They certainly agree on stopping the never-ending wars. And so, I would love to see that happen. That would certainly be a contender,” the former president's son said.

Carlson hosted a prime-time opinion show on Fox News for six years before he was pulled off the air just days after the network paid Dominion Voting Systems nearly $800 million.

Last year, reports indicated Melania Trump had pushed for her husband to consider Carlson as a running mate but the popular host has thrown cold water on suggestions that he would run for public office, saying late last year it would be “kind of hard to envision.” (RELATED: Report Suggests Trump Seriously Considering Tucker Carlson As VP Pick)

Trump himself has acknowledged he would consider Carlson as a vice presidential pick “because he's got great common sense,” and during a town hall this week he indicated he has already made a decision on whom he will choose.
