Trump Sweeps Florida: Strong Wins and Key County Flips Signal Massive Momentum
Donald Trump has secured a decisive victory in Florida, the nation’s third-most populous state, winning by an even wider margin than he did in 2020. This resounding win in the right-leaning state highlights the former president’s appeal among Floridian voters and signals momentum as Election Day results continue to roll in across other battleground states.

Easily.
So has GOP Sen. Rick Scott.
Flipping Florida Counties: Duval, Pinellas and Miami-Dade Lead the Way

In Florida, Trump’s campaign made substantial gains by flipping two key counties previously won by Joe Biden in 2020. He is tantalizing close to victory in Duval County (Jacksonville), where he currently leads by 0.1 points with more Election Day votes, which tend to heavily favor Republicans, yet to be counted.
Trump also flipped Pinellas County (St. Petersburg), considered a crucial bellwether for Florida’s electoral outcome.
Most remarkably, Trump is leading Miami-Dade County by a solid 11-point margin, with over 80% of the votes counted. Miami-Dade, home to a large Hispanic and Cuban-American population, is a traditionally Democratic area, and such a lead represents a substantial swing in Trump’s favor.

Pennsylvania Parallels: Narrow Margins Among Puerto Rican Populations
Turning attention to Osceola County, a Florida region with a large Puerto Rican community, similar to northeast Pennsylvania, where Puerto Rican voters also make up a significant demographic. Trump is leading Osceola by a narrow 0.6-point margin, suggesting that superstar comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s politically injudicious joke about the island hasn’t had a measurable impact on the race.

The county was Biden+14 in 2020.
Trump’s Gains in Georgia and the Independent Voter Swing
At the same time, an exit poll from Georgia shows Trump winning independent voters by an impressive 11-point margin. This shift among Georgia’s independents underscores his growing support base, putting him in a favorable position in a state where every vote counts.
