Donald Sutherland, the celebrated Canadian actor, passed away on Thursday, at the age of 88 in Miami, Florida.
His career in film and television spanned over seven decades, and he was a certified movie star for nearly six, since his portrayal as Vernon L. Pinkley in 1967’s “The Dirty Dozen.”
Sutherland’s credits include “M*A*S*H” (1970), “National Lampoon’s Animal House” (1978), “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1978) and “Ordinary People” (1980). More recently, he starred in “JFK” (1991), “Backdraft” (1991), “Cold Mountain” (2003) and “Lord of War” (2005).
Donald Sutherland has given so many great performances in his career. But his role as a caring & understanding Father to a depressed son in Robert Redford's "Ordinary People" (1980) will forever be my favourite.

Some of Sutherland’s other noteworthy credits include “Kelly’s Heroes” (1970), “Pride & Prejudice” (2005) and “Space Cowboys” (2000).
