Hamas Says 40 Israeli Hostages Needed For Ceasefire ‘Not Alive’

-

ANALYSIS – Dead or “not alive”? The terrorists who violently ripped innocent Israelis, including women, children, men and the elderly and infirm, from their homes on October 7 and kept them as hostages, now say 40 of them are dead.

This likely means the stupid Hamas savages have killed more of the hostages than we know and don't want to admit it.

Of the 253 people Hamas initially seized, 129 hostages remain captive. Sadly, many of those now appear to be dead.

This also means the negotiations for another temporary ceasefire proposed by the Central Intelligence Agency () are in serious jeopardy.

CIA director Bill Burns met the head of 's Mossad, the Prime Minister of Qatar and the Egyptian spy chief in Cairo on Sunday, in an effort to break the deadlock in negotiations.

As  reported:

The framework that has been laid out by negotiators says that during a first six-week pause in the fighting, Hamas should release 40 of the remaining hostages, including all the women as well as sick and elderly men. In exchange, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be released from Israeli prisons.

Hamas has told international mediators – which include Qatar and Egypt – it does not have 40 living hostages who match those criteria for release, both sources said.

CNN's record of the conditions of the hostages also suggests there are fewer than 40 living hostages who meet the proposed criteria. The inability – or unwillingness – of Hamas to tell Israel which hostages would be released alive, is a major obstacle, the second source added.

The terror group has reportedly said it “does not have the 40 hostages in the humanitarian category that are still alive.” The group said those “not alive” (murdered by Hamas or others) included women, children, the elderly and the sick. Hamas has also told the mediators that the number they have still alive is significantly lower.

The Israeli prime minister's office said Wednesday that at least 33 of the remaining hostages are dead. Most of the remaining hostages may be young males soldiers or reservists.

India Today noted that:

The deal would also include the release of at least 700 Palestinian prisoners, including more than 100 who are serving life sentences for killing Israelis.

On Monday, a Hamas official told news agency Reuters that the group has rejected the Israeli ceasefire proposal made at talks in Cairo, and Israeli Prime Minister said a date was set for an invasion of Rafah, Gaza's last refuge for displaced Palestinians.

Israel has repeatedly asked Hamas for a list of the hostages and their health and status. Hamas has countered that it needs a break in the fighting to be able to track and gather down the hostages, the same thing they said in November before a weeklong pause that broke down after Hamas failed to deliver more hostages.

The hostages are believed to have been spread out among different factions of Hamas, as well as other Palestinian terror groups, criminal gangs and some even held by Palestinian families in Gaza.
