A survey of likely Minnesota voters revealed that the Harris campaign's chances of winning Minnesota actually decreased after announcing the state's governor as her running mate.
The New York Post reports:
That's the takeaway from new polling of 635 Likely Voters from Minnesota's KSTP, which found that the Democratic presidential nominee's advantage over Donald Trump has been cut in half since she picked Walz as her running mate last month and showcased the ticket at the Democratic National Convention.
Prior to announcing Walz as her running mate, polls indicated she could clinch the state in the upcoming presidential election with a 50% majority while Trump was anticipated to receive 40% of the Minnesota vote. After the announcement, the Trump campaign's projected Minnesota vote went up three points, while the Harris campaign's decreased by two.
The New York Post goes on to highlight the significance of these findings based on the population sample:
This is particularly remarkable given that this was a poll that included more Democrats than Republican respondents — with Dems making up 40% of the sample, Republicans 35%, and independents the remainder.
The Post goes on to note underwhelming support for her vice presidential pick among younger voters, with the demographic almost evenly divided.
Voters under the age of 35, a key demographic Harris needs in November, also aren't enthusiastic. 49% called Walz an excellent or good pick; the other 51% regarded him unfavorably. These voters make up 25% of the anticipated November electorate.
The poll went on to unveil a massive disparity between urban, suburban and rural Minnesota voters, with just 38% of rural voters expressing approval of the choice, compared to 59% of suburban voters and 61% of urban voters who approved as Walz as Harris' running mate.
The New York Post continues:
While 59% of Twin Cities residents rate the selection as excellent or good, only 48% of those in Northeast Minnesota, 46% of those in Western Minnesota, and 35% of those in Southwestern Minnesota make the same claim.
As governor of Minnesota, Walz championed highly controversial legislation, including taxpayer-funded education and healthcare for illegal immigrants, mandated paid leave that included part-time, temporary and seasonal employees, creating a huge financial burden for small businesses, and turning Minnesota into a “transgender sanctuary,” providing medication and surgery to minors wishing to transition from one gender to another without parental consent. He also was widely criticized for his handling of the riots that ravaged his state in 2020, following the death of George Floyd.
After the Harris campaign announced Walz as their vice presidential candidate, former Trump White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the Trump campaign was probably “cheering at Mar-a-Lago.”
entertainment purposes—— these 2 candidates would not be able to run a dog kennel let alone our country. both are unacceptable and unqualified. they love to lie- Do they believe their lies,
