In a recent press conference, Vice President Kamala Harris referenced a widely debunked article from The Atlantic, relying on claims made by a disgruntled former Trump staffer who claimed Trump repeatedly praised Hitler and said he wanted generals like the deceased dictator had. This move not only raises questions about her judgment but also highlights a troubling trend within the Democratic Party: the repeated and hyperbolic comparisons of their political rivals to Adolf Hitler.
Following her press conference at the Naval Observatory in which she likened him to the German tyrant, Trump released a 90 second ad featuring Auschwitz survivor Jerry Wartski.
“I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes. For her to accuse President Trump of being like Hitler is the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my 75 years living in the United States.”
He continues, “I know President Trump, and he would never say this, and Kamala Harris knows this. She owes my parents and everybody else who was murdered by Hitler an apology.”
She began her press conference earlier this week referencing the article from The Atlantic, saying, “Yesterday we learned that Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff John Kelly—a retired four star general—confirmed that while Donald Trump was president he said he wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had. Donald Trump said that because he doesn’t want a military that is loyal to the United States Constitution, he wants a military that is loyal to him…one that will obey his orders even when he tells them to break the law or abandon their oath to the Constitution of the United States. Donald Trump has repeatedly called his fellow Americans the enemy from within and even said he would use the United States military to go after American citizens.”
She posted on X earlier this week, “Donald Trump is out for unchecked power. He wants a military like Adolf Hitler had, who will be loyal to him, not our Constitution. He is unhinged, unstable, and given a second term, there would be no one to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses.”

Harris’s reliance on discredited sources to make her case is emblematic of a larger issue facing the Democratic Party. Instead of focusing on substantive policies and engaging with voters on the issues most important to them, they often resort to sensationalized rhetoric that alienates rather than persuades. By equating Trump with Hitler—especially after voters have already lived through a Trump presidency that few would define as authoritarian—Democrats risk diminishing their credibility and turning off supporters.
Harris has already faced significant backlash, with many voters increasingly viewing these statements as cheap political rhetoric rather than serious discourse. Holocaust survivors and their descendants have accused her of insensitivity and hyperbole for likening a political opponent to one of history’s most infamous tyrants. Critics argue that these comparisons trivialize the atrocities of the Holocaust and undermine the seriousness of what took place.
Moreover, the choice to promote discredited accounts from former Trump staffers highlights a strategic flaw in the Democratic messaging. Rather than addressing their own policies or engaging in meaningful debate, Harris and her allies seem to rely on character attacks, which can backfire in a political landscape where voters are looking for substance and solutions.

And all God’s people said Amen!
And these people seem to forget that President Trump has already served one term. Since a second term is never guaranteed, a President would attempt to address all the issues that are important to them during their first term. If you are going to accuse someone of something you better make sure you are relying on a credible source. All these wild accusations simply destroys your credibility.
Thank you sir for your very moving comments as a survivor of the Holocaust. And for telling Harris she has no clue about Hitler and what he did to the Jewish people. I’m so sorry that you will never get an apology from Harris or any others what compare President Trump to Hitler.
