On Thursday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) delivered a record-breaking eight-hour and 33-minute speech opposing President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Using the House’s “magic minute” rule — which allows party leaders to speak without time limits — Jeffries sought to delay the final vote. But the move was largely symbolic; the House moved forward with the vote immediately after his remarks.

“It takes a lot longer to build a lie than to tell the simple truth,” Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said shortly after beginning his remarks.
“Today for [Democrats] was about performance,” Johnson continued. “For us, it’s about results.”

The bill had already passed the Senate on Tuesday, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote. It cleared a key procedural hurdle in the House Thursday morning in a 219–213 vote, with just one Republican — Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.) — joining Democrats in opposition.
Unexpectedly, Rep. Thomas Massie voted no. Massie agreed to back the procedural vote to advance the bill early Thursday after Trump ceased personal attacks against him. Fitzpatrick once again sided with Democrats in opposing the measure.

Yet despite Jeffries’ marathon effort, it was a battle of optics — one that did little to stop the bill’s momentum as it sailed toward final passage.

As always, ‘Fog Horn Hakeen’ doing his dramatic grand standing for all to take in! What a wind bag, who’s party has no alternatives to offer except the ‘gloom and doom’ projections of chicken little ‘the sky is falling down’ theatrics! Anyway, thanks to Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership in the House, the sticking together of the Republican Congressional membership and to the President’s time and effort the final bill was passed ready for the President’s signature on the Country’s Annual Birthday Celebration on tomorrow the 4th of July. Now, lets ‘make hay while the sun still shines’!
Good show! Now move on from there, and fix the watered down elements and the PORK. MAGA!
Hakeem Jeffries is the quintessential political hack. He represents the oligarchs of America and every other nation. He is a hypocrite preying on the poor, uninformed, misinformed Americans using race bating and a billions of lies. He and his ilk are an affront to our nation and everything it stands for. He is the minority leader of the house spewing minority falsehoods. If the electorate in his state does not unseat him they deserve all of the misery he will expose them to.
