Kentucky authorities are investigating death threats made by an unidentified individual against Republican Sens. Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul and schoolchildren in the Bluegrass State.
Bowling Green Independent Schools, the Warren County Schools and the Allen County School systems each received a copy of the threat. The school districts serve Bowling Green — home to Sen. Paul — and the surrounding area.
As Fox News reports:
“U want to vote mich mcconnell and rand paul then u all deal with what comes with that,” the threat states. “And the only way ur gonna learn is when ur f******* racist cracker kids are on the ground bleeding out. Then you’ll know what the rest of us have to live with on a daily basis because of the fascists you voted in.”
“I’m gonna be f****** famous. Nik Crus ain’t s***!” the threat stated, referring to Nikolas Cruz, who is serving a life sentence for the 2018 Parkland mass shooting.
The individual also expressed their desire to execute former President Donald Trump. No specific date or time was included in the threat.
Classes were canceled in the three school districts Thursday. Students returned on Friday with a beefed-up police presence.
The Bowling Green Police Department is continuing its investigation into the message’s origin with the assistance of the FBI.

This policy includes:
• All exterior doors will remain locked, including the door leading into the vestibule.
• Limiting access to our schools. All visitors must first call in to gain access to the school. Phone numbers for respective schools will be posted outside the door.
• Students remain inside (No outdoor activities).
• All classroom doors will remain shut and locked during instructional time.
• Staff assigned to perform extra patrols of exterior doors and hallways during instructional time.
• Extra supervision in common areas and during class changes.
