Congress Takes Away Biden’s Crack Pipes

-

A measure slipped into the Democrats' $1.7 trillion omnibus spending spree ends a program to provide Americans with taxpayer-funded crack pipes.

“Tucked on page 3,128 of the nearly 4,700-page bill is a provision that says federal dollars cannot be used to ‘purchase, procure, or distribute pipes or cylindrical objects intended to be used to smoke or inhale illegal scheduled substances,''” The Washington Free Beacon reports.

The language mirrors a proposal by U.S. Sen. , called the “CRACK Act,” which would have a proposed $30 million plan to use taxpayer funds to buy so-called “safe smoking kits” for drug addicts.

“Most people would agree their tax dollars shouldn't pay for crack pipes. Sending drug paraphernalia to addicts is not the answer. It's just common sense. Thankfully, my CRACK Act is buried in this 4,155-page spending bill,” Rubio tells the Free Beacon.

“It will now be against the law to use taxpayer dollars to purchase, procure, or distribute pipes or cylindrical objects intended to be used to smoke or inhale illegal . It's good policy and I expect it to become a new annual rider included in every appropriations bill moving forward.”

The administration initially denied proposing the kits until confronted with the language of their proposal.

Modeled after programs in liberal-run cities, the “safe smoking kits” would have used Harm Reduction Grant Program funds offered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide “alcohol swabs, lip balm, other materials to promote hygiene and reduce the transmission of diseases like HIV and hepatitis,” press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters in February.

A spokesman for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services told the kits also included pipes for smoking and other drugs.

The funds were provided under Biden Executive Order 13985, titled “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal .”

  1. What the White House & their fellow Libs call “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government,” I would call “Enabling Self-Destructive and Criminal Behavior.” Stop protecting and assisting the people who are selling drugs and those who are maintaining the market for drugs. The Federal Government should be preventing the suppliers from smuggling in those harmful substances by closing and truly securing ALL the borders and coasts and by arresting, charging, trying, convicting and incarcerating the criminals for loonnggg sentences, no parole and automatic deportation (to a third world country NOT of their choosing) once they have served the entirety of their sentences. Even with the cost of keeping someone in prison, it would probably be less expensive than what the country, both the government and the taxpayers, are currently spending when you consider crime, loss of life, law enforcement costs (only to see a bunch of liberal DAs refuse or fail to prosecute the vermin) and property damage. As for the addicts and substance abusers, they have made poor choices in their lives. Either get them off the streets and into rehab programs or get them into prisons where they can go through withdrawal the hard way. Give them limited choices. Stop coddling and enabling.

    Enough is enough!
