The Trump presidency gave Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) the perfect opportunity to reinvent herself. Almost overnight, the congresswoman went from being known as one of the country’s “most corrupt” politicians, according to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), to a folk hero of the resistance with her sassy criticisms of Trump.
But underneath the bombast, she stayed true to her roots.
Case in point, campaign finance reports confirm that Waters continues to line her daughter’s pockets with campaign cash. Despite government watchdogs accusing her of blatant nepotism, the Los Angeles Democrat has escape scrutiny with reputation intact.
In fact, Waters now chairs the powerful House Financial Services Committee.
And her daughter continues to receive a lucrative salary.
As Fox News reports:
Since 2003, Karen Waters has received over $1 million in payments from her mother to her and her company, Progressive Connections, for campaign-related services.
Federal Elections Commission (FEC) data reviewed by Fox News Digital shows the payments range from the hundreds to the tens of thousands of dollars for a variety of costs, including “slate mailer management” fees, “campaign managing services,” and paying for a “band for [a] holiday event.”
Waters did come under investigation more than a decade ago after pushing for a bailout for her family’s bank. Although investigators cleared her, her grandson — and then-chief of staff — wasn’t so lucky.
Despite her questionable ethics, CREW abdicated any attempt to hold her accountable once Trump won the presidency, as both the left-wing watchdog and the congresswoman wanted the president gone.
As the adage goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
A Flawed Political Force
While Waters receives praise from progressives calling her a “rock star,” her family continues to enrich themselves with campaign donations.
In 2004, the Los Angeles Times revealed that the Waters campaign had shelled out over $1 million to other family members over the previous eight years. The Times noted how activists admired Waters’ talent for channeling the hopes and fears of her constituents. She had a talent connecting with African American voters, according to one civil rights lawyer, only second to Jesse Jackson.
Being seen as a voice for blue-collar and low-income communities may have made Waters untouchable in her district.
But Democrats unwillingness to call out her corruption and extremism could add to their woes on election night 2022.

You forgot to mention she was a founder of the House Progressive Caucus and as commie as they come. One of the lynch pins of the communist coup in Washington. Of course, her constituency is in Commiefornia which is the epicenter of communism in America. There is little “American” about this woman except for her address and as I mentioned, that isn’t saying too much.
This can’t be a surprise to anyone. Mad Max is, and has been ever since she found out how she could screw the taxpayers out of money, and get away with it. She, like Pelosi, have made a fortune, not only for themselves, but their family members too. Since our government watchdogs do nothing about it they will continue lining their pockets.
