Many these days feel heart palpitations when the thought of their monthly mortgage payment or the cost of groceries enters their mind.
Yet, while Republicans continue to hammer Democrats over the public perception of “Bidenomics,” the White House has another focus today.

The latest component of the Biden administration’s energy agenda – a de facto ban – effectively prohibits the sale of new incandescent and halogen bulbs.
Although owning said bulbs won’t be illegal, the government has made it illegal for stores to sell them and companies to manufacture them.
The ban goes into effect today, as Fox News reports:
Under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) regulations, manufacturers and retailers will be prohibited from selling incandescent and similar halogen light bulbs which represent a sizable share of current light bulb supplies. Instead, manufacturers and retailers must sell light-emitting diode, or LED, alternatives or risk substantial federal penalties.
“It’s impossible for Democrats to leave us alone. States must fight back,” Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., tweeted ahead of the ban enforcement.
“President Biden continues to push liberal fantasies through his weaponized federal agencies,” Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., added. “The Department of Energy should be focused on American energy independence, not on what lightbulbs you can or can’t purchase for your home or business.”
In April 2022, months after first proposing the rulemaking, the DOE finalized regulations prohibiting certain light bulbs over their low energy efficiency levels. According to the DOE announcement, the regulations are projected to save consumers an estimated $3 billion per year on utility bills and cut carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons over the next three decades.
DOE has repeatedly warned retailers about the penalties for noncompliance.
“By raising energy efficiency standards for light bulbs, we’re putting $3 billion back in the pockets of American consumers every year and substantially reducing domestic carbon emissions,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm triumphantly announced last year. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) reacted slightly differently at a congressional hearing last week.
“I’m happy the Department of Energy is out here making sure that we can all save money because we’re too dumb to figure out how to do it ourselves.”

The problem with this idiotic “rule” (read here a de facto “law” that this alphabet agency made circumventing Congress) is that many legacy appliances cannot use LED bulbs. Time to reign in these agencies and return lawmaking to Congress where it belongs.
An incandescent light bulb in a house water heater closet prevents it from frozen pipes. No LED will do that. Since when does the “Executive Branch” make the laws?! Congress is the branch of government authorized to make laws. This is typical agenda overreach!
We’ll let “Beijing Joe” Biden buy ALL of our lightbulbs . . . but let’s IMPEACH and CONVICT him FIRST!

m going to say that our governments intelligence is dimly lit with grifting ignorant arrogant people. We have generators that will keep up with EVs. The only thing you have to change is the driver and its mind. Wake up.Where are the republicans and the courts?? These edicts and obviously unconstitutional.
Throughout history, people adopted new technologies when they became available IF it made sense to do so. Nobody FORCED the public to accept innovation. People agreed to electrify their homes because electric lights were better than oil lamps. They bought cars because they were an improvement over horse-drawn buggies. We all bought computers because of the advantages of owning one. So NOW this government TELLS us what we must buy and what we must use. It is for our own good, you see. Nice that we have these folks to make these decisions for us.
So far, these LED bulbs aren’t saving me any money.
They’ve been costing me about triple the cost of the incandescent bulbs and a third of the bulbs I buy don’t last a year while incandescents will last at least 18 months in same service.
I moved into a brand new house 24 months ago. There are 4 can lights in my kitchen. 1 light lasted a month. 1 light lasted about 12 months and a third is on the verge of going out now. 75% of the kitchen lights have not performed as advertised.
Kinda like the Biden Administration.
