Mayorkas Threat: If He’s Impeached, Next Guy Will Be Worse

ANALYSIS – Just in case you thought things couldn’t get worse at the border under Joe Biden and his hapless Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas, you might be wrong. At least that’s the fear Mayorkas is trying to instill in congressional Republicans metaphorically out for his scalp.

Republicans are seeking to impeach Mayorkas through the House Homeland Security Committee. A hearing is set for Jan. 10 as illegal immigration hits record levels under his failed leadership.

Border Patrol recorded more than two million encounters in fiscal year 2023, slightly less than the 2.2 million migrants in fiscal year 2022, but together these represent massive, unprecedented numbers.

Even worse, Fox News reported that on Monday, Mayorkas confessed to Border Patrol agents during a meeting in Eagle Pass, Texas, that the current rate of release for migrants caught illegally crossing the southern U.S. border is actually “above 85 percent.”

Meanwhile, Florida Republican Rep. Kat Cammack claimed on Fox News that Mayorkas told members of Congress that if they impeach him, they won’t like “who comes next.”

This elicited a shocked “Whoa!” from the “Outnumbered” host.

What did he mean ‘who comes next’?” Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner asked.

Cammack said: “I asked him if that was a threat, and he just smiled. This man is dangerous, he knows exactly what he’s doing, and he is two-faced. We need to get rid of him now.”

“Yeah, I wish somebody had gotten that on tape,” Faulkner said.

While arguing in favor of impeaching him, Cammack said when asked if he should be impeached: “Absolutely… heck, I even know of some Democrats that are anxious to get rid of him.”

“He has lied repeatedly to Congress. He has been negligent in his duties. He needs to go. He needs to be impeached. Our national security depends on it,” Cammack added.

Cammack added:

This is 100 percent by design. They want an open border crisis whether it is for an election, whether it’s for future votes as they work to get rid of citizenship as a requirement for voting, we’re not sure. But he was very, very clear in what he said, and there were other members in the room. So, I will never forget that and as we go to impeach him for his negligence, for him destroying our national security and eroding our national sovereignty, that will be top of mind.

As Cammack noted, we all need to keep in mind that like so many of Joe Biden’s destructive policies, the so-called “border crisis” isn’t happening because of Mayorkas’ ineptitude or even Biden’s; it’s part of a deliberate Democrat master plan that we may not yet fully understand.

To reinforce this view, Team Biden last week filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas after Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law allowing state and local law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants, which Biden and Mayorkas are deliberately not doing.

Shamefully, the lawsuit claims that the law is unconstitutional and interferes with the federal government’s authority on immigration matters. Unfortunately, that authority shouldn’t include ignoring or violating immigration laws established by Congress.
