The National Rifle Association (NRA) announced Thursday a lawsuit against the pistol brace rule announced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) earlier this year.
Fox News has reported the following today:
“In a federal lawsuit being filed in North Dakota Thursday, the NRA argues that ATF's new rule is “arbitrary” and vague to the point of being an “abuse of power.”
“The bureau is declaring that they will effectively decide on a case-by-case basis whether a firearm is subject to the NFA. Every American gun owner is in danger of potentially facing felony charges at the whim of these bureaucrats and without any new statute in place,” said Jason Ouimet, executive director, National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action. “
Since the ATF's rule was announced in January, Congressional action has been taken to prevent its implementation.
Senators Roger Marshall of Kansas and John Kennedy of Louisiana, as well Congressman Andrew Clyde of Georgia introduced the SHORT Act last week, meant to reign in the ATF's power.

This government is totally Out of Control! This is typical of the democrats, when they cannot pass their Anti American, Unconstitutional Attacks on Democracy they either Issue an Executive Order or have some Rogue Agency like the ATF. EPA, IRS and others to do their Dirty Work for them. Keep in mind, the ATF just lost their Case in the Supreme Court regarding Bump Stocks which caused a great deal of Financial Harm to the manufacturers of Bump Stocks and the people that bought them. These Rogue Agencies as well as this Rogue Government must be held accountable!
This is typical of totalitarian, socialist oppressing governments which are attempting to leave the people defenseless.
“guns–,who needs them?? we are here to protect you” 1959 Cuba–Fidel Castro!! How is the freedom index today in Cuba?
similar to the NAZI to the Jews.
The fact that Congress has historically failed to check the firearms related antics of the ATF/BATFE is a giant ZITZ on the face of Congress. Has the error of their ways dawned on Congress, perhaps. I for one will withhold judgement for a while, pending the evidence of action from Congress.
Let’s see who wins this law suit. Is it a proverbial boat race, with the winner, the ATF predetermined, or do The People have a chance?
